We announced to the company today that we won’t be working Fridays in May. After reviewing our engagement data it became clear that our employees need rest and simply encouraging them to “take a break when they need it” isn’t enough. By aligning all of our days off we are allowing our people to truly unplug on their off day (they won’t be bombarded with slack, email, and meetings), we gain efficiency by aligning our schedules, and most importantly we acknowledge the reality of this situation and the impact it is having on our employees. This is a season for bold leadership and caring for our people today is what will allow our purpose to come to life tomorrow. Emplify #employeeengagement #leadership

Would we have the electric light, telephones and a cure for polio if folks "took Friday off". I have never read an autobiography from a highly successful person who worked 30 or even 40 hours a week. How will the nurse or doctor working ER being inspired by this? You seem to have an interesting company but it seems tone deaf to the situation many in this economy are facing. We find that our employees are eager to come back to work because they WANT to work hard and not because they want to escape work. Avoiding burnout is often found in finding a purpose and mission in work. Before I would engage with your company I would want to know how you would help us achieve that goal rather than treat work as something that is an impediment to enjoying life.
