Exciting times ahead for hospital systems in the USA as more institutions onboard new Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems! At IMS Interpreter Management System, we’re proud to lead the way in ensuring seamless integration with any EHR using HL7 and FHIR technologies. But what exactly is HL7 and FHIR? HL7 (Health Level Seven) is a set of international standards for exchanging, integrating, sharing, and retrieving electronic health information. These standards focus on the application layer, facilitating communication between diverse healthcare systems. FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), developed by HL7, is a standard designed to simplify healthcare information exchange. It combines the best features of previous HL7 standards and leverages modern web technologies like RESTful APIs, HTTP, and JSON/XML. Integrating our IMS Interpreter Management System with EHRs using HL7 and FHIR ensures efficient, accurate, and secure communication and data exchange, enhancing the overall healthcare experience. Language service departments of healthcare systems leveraging this integration report exceptional time savings in coordinating interpreter encounters, and improving overall patient experience and care, especially for those most vulnerable. Reach out if you want to learn more. #HealthcareIT #EHR #HL7 #FHIR #Interoperability #HealthcareInnovation #EPIC #Cerner #Meditech #Allscripts #Athenahealth #iPM #healthequity

Senior VP @ Birlasoft | Pre-sales Large Integrated IT Services Outsourcing & Service Transition Management
🚑 An Analogy for Managed Services Transition Programs: The Critical Patient's Journey 🏥 In my 30+ years of experience in IT, I've often found that the journey of transitioning managed services can be likened to the critical journey of a patient in need of urgent medical care. Let's explore this analogy to shed light on the intricacies of transition programs and the stakes involved. Imagine a family with a critically ill loved one, whose health is deteriorating rapidly under the care of their current hospital. The family, embodying the role of CIO/CTO of an organization, begins to lose trust in the incumbent vendor, fearing for the well-being of their beloved patient (the organization). "What are some warning signs that it's time to consider a new hospital (managed services provider)?" The new managed services team, represented by a dedicated team of doctors and nurses at a different hospital. This team holds the promise of providing better care and a brighter future for the patient. The transition from one hospital to another becomes the ambulance journey, symbolizing the managed services transition program. However, the stakes could be higher. Just as any hiccup during the ambulance journey could jeopardize the patient's life, any misstep during the transition program could expose the organization to significant risks. The family, comprising the CXOs of the customer organization, bears the weight of this responsibility and the potential consequences. In this post, I delve deeper into the parallels between these two journeys and the lessons we can glean from them. From the importance of trust and communication to the necessity of meticulous planning and execution, there are invaluable insights to be gained. Let's embark on this journey together, ensuring a smooth transition and a brighter future for our organizations. After all, just as every patient deserves the best possible care, every organization deserves the best possible managed services. Join me in the discussion, and share your experiences with managed services transitions in the comments! #ManagedServices #TransitionPrograms #MSP #ITTransformation 🌟

At THIS, we strive for digital innovations that make processes better for hospitals and patients alike. Take for example our work in adding an MPage for prioritisation to Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust's Oracle Cerner EPR. This work saved 91 hours of clinicians' time in one calendar month alone, whilst also preventing 5,000 unnecessary appointments, ultimately reducing waiting times.
