Want to know how PR can benefit your business? I will be at the LTA backed @FIP Rise event on Sunday November 12 if you want to have an informal chat about all things padel and PR. I will also be available Monday November 13 to Friday November 17 if you wanted to meet in person. I have had a number of calls and messages this past week and it has been illuminating. They have all been interesting conversations but what is coming across is that the majority have no PR plan, are holding off on starting PR so are not fully engaging and understanding the PR process, or have no budget allocated for PR. Based on this, there's a definite need for an understanding of how PR can work for padel and what's required to make that happen. Some interesting figures from the monitoring of outdoor advertising for December 2023: • monitoring geography: Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Kropyvnytskyi, Chernivtsi • more than 26 thousand advertising displays were monitored • TOP-5 categories of advertisers correspond to the November inspection: Social advertising (SOV 15%), Entertainment (10%), Trade (7%), Auto and Medicine (4% each) • 51% of all formats are classic shields and prisms, and the share in DOOH increased from 15% in November to 19% in December (in Kyiv - from 30% to 35%) • TOP commercial brands in Kyiv by the number of appearances: Sport Life, advertising of radio stations and gambling players (First +, Favbet, Slotoking) as well as RST.UA • TOP car brands: Mitsubishi Outlander, Mazda CH-90, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Peugeot 2008, and Citroen C5 Aircross #posterscopeukraine #advertisingmonitoring #моніторингреклами #зовнішняреклама #outofhomeadvertising #advertising #marketing #Ukraine

Infringement is a fine line for brands looking to promote themselves during the Olympic Games. Asia IP Magazine recently reached out to our trade mark experts, our Asia Trade Mark Group Leader, Amy Chan and Senior Associate Nicollette Liu, for some key Do’s and Don’ts. “Obviously if you are not an official sponsor or partner, you can’t use any official or unofficial logos associated with the event, but there are a range of other rules as well. Brands cannot use imagery of the host city in their marketing, and none of the official hashtags, trade marked words or phrases,” Amy says. “Nor can you congratulate or support athletes or teams by mentioning them in connection with the Games.” “Following various ambush marketing campaigns and brands using loopholes in the rules in previous years, the International Olympic Committee has tightened the rules on acceptable marketing during the event, and brands need to be aware of these” Nicollette added. “The Committee has prepared various pamphlets explaining in details of what is acceptable and what is not, including various examples of social media posts.” Find a link to these in the comments.
