Senior care today is reactive. It’s a sick-care system, not a health-care system (designed to keep seniors healthy). Most of us have accepted this status quo because it feels too big and complex to change. But not Bickford. We’re taking the road less traveled and championing a higher standard of senior care. Let's chat about your loved one. https://lnkd.in/gWcNDWM2

University Health Network really knows how to merge #patientflow #workflow #workflowautomation and #utilizationmanagement to embrace incremental improvements for #workforce and #patientexperience. I never doubt how hard these teams are working behind the scenes and what a win is represented via every square foot of space gained for #patientcare and every minute saved by any stakeholder in #emergencycare. Such a great story here ! showing that #healthit works best when integrated into organizational thinking - & when teams roll up their sleeves like this. A shout out for seeking diversity of perspectives in the teamwork.
UHN's "Fast-ED" Initiative is making a huge impact on patient flow in the ED! With the help of 60+ staff from all disciplines in the ED, they are working to improve patient flow and "time to triage" in Toronto General and Toronto Western hospitals. One of the most creative solutions was to clear out the photocopy room at TGH - which was no longer needed due to UHN's health information system powered by Epic - and turn it into a patient exam and treatment room.
