Head of Digital and Short Course Portfolio/ Organisational Consultant/ Clinical Team Manager CAMHS- Mental Health Nurse, Art Psychotherapist and Jungian Analyst (Analytical Psychologist) in training
Great breakthroughs are made together and it’s helpful to learn about others on the mission too, meeting Kathryn Tolfree Workforce Development Lead for Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust another nurse, who is also passionate about supporting the Nursing and Healthcare Workforce Internationally around general medicine. As nurses we can bring a lot of understanding to the evolving landscape globally, promoting and supporting a public health approach. Transient populations continue to show us that whilst the world is big, is it also relatively small at the same time. If we can take anything from the pandemic it is that we are all connected and that one part of the system will affect another. There are always opportunities for us to learn from one another and support collaborative inter-cultural efforts where possible. #internationaleducation #internationalaffairs #globalhealth

Is it time to admit the NHS have a productivity and efficiency challenge? Staffing levels have increased rapidly in the last 4 years but people don't see or feel that outputs have matched this investment. Waiting lists are at a long term high and patient satisfaction the lowest in decades. I think everyone will agree NHS staff are working harder than ever and committed to great patient care. If we are not seeing the change in outcomes and its not down to the people, it can only be the process and organisation that is holding back these dedicated NHS staff members. Over 42% of nurses spend more than half the working week on non-clinical admin this might be why 19.5% more nurses is not having the impact we all want. The good news is with so many great NHS clinical teams changing the processes can released billions in savings, reduce waiting lists and increase patient satisfaction again. #NHS #Efficiency #patientexperience

May 6th-May 12th is National Nurses' Week! Did you know that nurses play an important role in expanding access to healthcare? According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), "For people who have difficulty accessing health care because of distance, lack of providers, lack of insurance, or other reasons, nurses are a lifeline to care that meets them where they are. Nurses work in areas that are underserved by other health care providers and serve the uninsured and underinsured." Here at The CHC Alliance, we strive to keep your FQHC running smoothly, taking care of A/R, credentialing, software updates, workflow optimization to name a few. By taking care of all the details that keep your health center going, you have more time (and money!) to take care of your patients. Partner with a true ally in the healthcare field. Full article: https://lnkd.in/eiZYSdni The justification: "Requests are typically at very short notice - often as little as four hours before a shift is due to start. The level of rates necessarily reflects the last-minute and urgent nature of requests." Candy Healthcare and many of our framework competitors were covering shifts up to an hour before the start time, last night, just like every other night. As I type, short notice shifts are being covered for today. We know first hand this reasoning doesn't wash with the NHS. Off framework and high cost reduction strategies are in full flow. 📉 This week we are setting up an agreed provision to remove Off Framework supply, potentially at three separate NHS Trusts, through an innovative solution. ⭐ Internal staff bank fill has increased against total agency usage. We expect the data points are shifting quite dramatically. Credit should go to all those involved across NHS Procurements, Temp Staffing, Frameworks and also the agencies who put collaboration and long term relationships above the lure of high margin. There will always be need for fluidity in staffing and a ratio between permanent and temporary allocation. Framework agencies offer that lever, with highly vetted nurses working at extremely short notice. #nhs #agency #nursing #temporarystaffing #procurement #national #hospital #hospitals #healthcare #framework #pricing #costmodels

I applaud decision makers who advocate for caregivers and the importance of addressing staffing challenges in healthcare. Nurses and caregivers play a vital role in our healthcare system, and it's crucial to support them with fair terms and adequate resources to provide quality care to patients. Collaborating with a nurses-led staffing firm could be a positive step towards improving working conditions and patient outcomes. PM me and let’s talk about Fair Health Cares strategies in addressing short staffing, one facility at a time. #SafeStaffingSavesLives

Download Bleepus App to Hire medical professionals or get healthcare jobs (Only available for professionals in England) On a mission to work with 50k + healthcare providers and professionals/Founder and CEO, Bleepus.
The UK healthcare sector is in one its most difficult period in history. Chances are things may keep getting worse. A recent report by Michelle shows that the waiting lists could grow and exceed 8 million by summer. This is due to the low response rate as the number of referrals keeps increasing while needs are unmet. A disheartening news by NHS England states that over 1 million appointments and procedures were rescheduled. This leaves many patients in continuous discomfort and their families in distress. However, the pressure is not only on them but also on healthcare professionals that often overwork due to increasing staff shortages. Needless to say, we need to take actions now for things not to get worse. How? By: - providing enough funds for beds and investing in surgical hubs. - employing more talents to reduce the daily workload caused by understaffing. - compensating staff well enough through good pay and working conditions. Time is running fast. The best time to take action was yesterday, the better time to take action is today. Tragically not an April Fools The perfect example of why the NHS is an utter clown show. Any private sector business run like this would go bust or its management sacked. “The NHS relies on agency staff to fill some of the 40,000 vacancies it has for registered nurses, and locum doctors are regularly needed to fill gaps on rotas. Some can earn thousands for a single 12-hour shift. Agency spending is costing the NHS £3.2bn a year, the equivalent of an extra 31,000 full-time nurses.” And of course don’t forget most of these agency workers are full time NHS employees. Imagine a private employer tolerating that? And that’s before you consider the NHS is clearly incompetent in how it procures agency workers. We need to switch to a co-pay system with major private sector involvement. No other comparable country uses our healthcare model. In a competitive market profit drives efficiency, reduces cost and delivers better outcomes, the public sector does the opposite

We all face challenges but the intensity differs. This was my response to a friend about the current issues doctors and nurses are facing which have forced a couple of them to resign. I spent an hour scrolling through my feed on X yesterday and I could feel the inner displeasure of healthcare professionals in the UK. 170,000 healthcare professionals left due to burnout and stress last year and many are still leaving this year. Every profession has its challenges but working where your mental health is being tapped with will never worth it. This is another week for many healthcare professionals to struggle when it comes to meeting up with tasks while spending little or no time to take care of themselves. In as much as we can't solve the internal problem of staff shortage at once, we can make gradual changes until UK healthcare becomes what we want. My team and I are ready to provide seamless medical staffing needs for healthcare providers in the NHS or private hospitals in England. Feel free to reach out to me or share this post with a friend who may need our service. What is the major challenge in your profession? #nhs #healthcare #gp #nurses #healthcareinuk
