⚡ The Bolloré Group, through its subsidiary Blue Solutions, has announced the construction of a #gigafactory for solid lithium-metal #batteries in Alsace, scheduled for 2030. This factory, located in the Mulhouse area, aims to produce next-generation batteries for Electric Vehicles (#EV), with an investment of 2.2 billion euros and the creation of 1500 jobs. 🔌 A R&D center will also be commissioned in Brittany in 2026. This project is part of the national strategy to strengthen #French and European sovereignty in the battery sector, while supporting the goal of producing 2 million electrified vehicles per year in France by 2030. 🌍In my talk at the UKRI panel which aims to support the UK's progress through research, innovation and economic growth our focus was on the ESCALETE Project. 🚛 Symbio inaugurates the first Fuel Cell Gigafactory #SymphonHy👏 🆕 Europe's largest integrated site for the production of #hydrogen fuel cells to support sustainable and efficient mobility has been inaugurated. 🚀 From now on, key components for hydrogen vehicles will be manufactured and assembled in series in Saint-Fons, south of Lyon. ✅ The factory is the largest in Europe and so far the only one that covers all production steps. Stacks of several hundred fuel cells are produced in Saint-Fons. 📈 In the pilot phase that started in 2021, around 1,000 systems have rolled off the production line annually. There should be 15,000 next year, 50,000 from 2026 and 200,000 from 2030 including production at other locations. 💶 With innovation and industrialization capability and annual production of 50,000 fuel cell systems, SymphonHy paves the way for large-scale production and supports customers in the pursuit of low-carbon transportation. SymphonHy is part of HyMotive, a strategic €1 billion project to develop disruptive technologies supported by the European Union and the French government under the IPCEI (Important Project of Scientific Interest) program. 👷♀️👷🏾👷🏽♀️ HyMotive will create 1,000 jobs in the future. 🚙🚛🛻 With fuel cells from Symbio, Stellantis will further expand its hydrogen offering beyond mid-size vans already available in Europe: with large vans, Ram pickups and heavy trucks for the North American market. It was a pleasure and an honour for me to attend the inauguration digitally as COP28 UAE in Dubai did not allow my physical presence.

📣Strategic Partnership for the establishment of a Brazilian Center of Competence in Electric Mobility and Smart Grids 🚩Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt and the Brazilian Research Institute Lactec have signed a fundamental agreement to support the establishment of a Brazilian Center of Competence in Electric Mobility and Smart Grids. This partnership is a milestone in advancing scientific and technological capabilities in Brazil in critical areas. 🔬 Lactec, backed by a commitment of funding from the Brazilian government, aims to create a center of innovation and knowledge focused on electric mobility and smart grids. The FutureGrid Competence Center will focus on: * Expanding scientific and technological expertise * Initiating educational initiatives * Establishing technological partnerships * Fostering the startup ecosystem 🤝 Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt is honored to be selected as the primary international collaborator for this national initiative, launching two initial research initiatives: 1. Autonomous UAVs for infrastructure analysis 2. Electric vehicle battery longevity 🎓 As part of the agreement, Lactec will finance doctoral scholarships for three years, including provisions for relocation to Germany, promoting international exchange. In May 2017, H3 Dynamics decided to #chooseFrance as its Global HQ for its new Hydrogen Aviation Solutions business. A few weeks later we were greeted by President Emmanuel Macron at #Vivatech, the largest tech event in Europe. In the years that followed: we raised capital, we built a fantastic aerospace engineering team in Toulouse and built up a global client base. Today, among many other achievements - we became a supplier to Airbus, and our French operations are profitable. And the future is bright: we are expanding upstream, downstream, across different solutions and products, with a growing ecosystem of local partners. 💧✈️ Focus on Hydrogen for Plane of the Future: Airbus' New "ZEROe" Development Center 🛫 Airbus has opened a new "ZEROe" Development Center (ZEDC) in Stade, Lower Saxony, near Hamburg. ZEDC will concentrate on developing cost-effective, lightweight hydrogen systems using composite materials like carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFK). This includes the design and construction of cryogenic hydrogen tanks, essential for the future of hydrogen-powered flight. 💡 Renewable hydrogen can be used in different forms to power aeroplanes and is the key to potentially emission-free aviation. With an energy density three times greater than jet fuel, hydrogen presents two main applications in aircraft: fuel cells for electric power and direct combustion in jet engines. Of course, there is also the approach of combining fuel cells for electric motors and direct combustion of hydrogen into an efficient and emission-neutral hybrid engine. ⚡ We are eagerly following Airbus' pursuit of hydrogen-based aviation, which aligns with our mission to decarbonise the transport and energy sector through renewable hydrogen and other renewable fuels.
