This week, representatives from the HoLoDEC research project were guests at the IMMS in #Erfurt. There were many impulses and a lively exchange on the interim results as well as on further joint steps.   In HoLoDEC, #innovative methods for the design of new analog and digital circuit and system components for distributed sensor systems as well as their connection to #EdgeComputing systems are researched. The methodological approach pursues a consistent #Hardware -#Software co-design at several hierarchical levels. Living and working in a space where you barely understand the language is a challenge in many ways. For sure we need language to convey our thoughts and ideas, but is it always the case or how it should be? How about we start understanding the language of the body and introduce more awareness of non-verbal communication in our innovation practices? I am very happy to be part of this project by mkrz collective -Alternative Lab for Future Skills, it will be a great opportunity for me to explore Embodied Thinking Embodied Learning Embodied Idiating through awareness of movement and spaces- this new emerging field we call Somatic Architecture! The #Innovation Park #Artificial #Intelligence (IPAI) in #Heilbronn is shaping up to be a significant #hub for #AI development and innovation. Here are some key #highlights and #projects associated with IPAI: 1. **Global Home of Human AI**: The IPAI campus, designed by the architectural firm MVRDV, aims to create a flexible and innovative environment where AI is integrated into public spaces. The design includes inviting open spaces, diverse building types, and a 1.2 km long ring that encourages various activities¹. 2. **#Sustainability and #Mobility**: The #campus will feature intelligent and sustainable rainwater management, green corridors, and noise barriers. It is designed to be car-free, prioritizing pedestrians and cyclists, with smart micro-mobility solutions¹. 3. **Support from Dieter Schwarz Foundation**: The project is heavily supported by the Dieter Schwarz Foundation, which has committed significant funding to make Heilbronn a global center for AI². 4. **#Collaborations and #Innovations**: The first building of IPAI, IPAI Spaces, serves as a platform for collaboration among various stakeholders, including companies like Porsche AG AUDI AG and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. It also features a visitor center to promote public understanding and acceptance of #AI². 5. **Future Developments**: The campus is set to open in 2025, with ongoing developments aimed at creating a vibrant ecosystem for AI research and application¹. The exciting Femtec Network & ABB | Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH Innovation Lab challenge has come to an end! Diving into the #circulareconomy and #sustainability topics alongside a diverse and intercultural team of 26 STEM students was an enriching experience. Throughout our dynamic four-month collaboration on the project "Closing the loop for electrical infrastructure products in buildings" with ABB | Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH, we encountered significant challenges. From navigating the complexity and uncertainty of regulation details to managing the diversity of materials, engaging various stakeholders, addressing the costs associated with collection programs, and carefully selecting suitable partners for collaboration. Looking ahead, a future challenge will involve data security concerns for smart buildings, as safely disposing of electronic components containing sensitive data will add complexity and an extra layer of cost to the overall program. However, despite these challenges, ABB | Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH have many reasons to persist in advancing this project and future endeavours in the circular economy. Everyday things such as climbing stairs or tying shoes are taken for granted by many of us. For people with physical disabilities, however, such simple things can become major challenges. The MedTech Lab at OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule in Rapperswil is working on innovative solutions to overcome these obstacles. Since 2015, the enhanced Teams have been developing robust and reliable assistance systems to enable people to fully participate in everyday life again with the help of technology.
