On this day in 1865, nearly two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved people in Galveston Bay, Texas, finally learned of their freedom. Today, we honor #Juneteenth, a day of reflection, education, and celebration. Juneteenth is more than just a historical milestone; it is a testament to resilience, a celebration of freedom, and a reminder of the ongoing journey towards equality and justice. #FreedomDay
