One of the more popular options in European and Asian industries, a turnback eye sling is arguably the most efficient wire rope eye to manufacture. Also called a “fold back loop,” “returned-loop,” or “double-deck eye,” the turnback spliced eye is made by bending the rope against the live portion to the free end by using a steel or stainless steel (drop protective) sleeve. Like the Flemish eye, the sleeve is crimped with a hydraulic swager. While a great and efficient option, how do they compare to Flemish or hand-tucked eyes?
