More action by the USPTO to attempt to slow/disincentivize continuation practice. In my opinion, it still seems like these proposed rules (at least the rules related to terminal disclaimer practice) really expand the power of the USPTO beyond what they really should have as an agency: https://lnkd.in/e2HinKe2

The #USPTO director's precedential decision in the Xerox Corp. v. Bytemark case puts patent litigants and patent owners on notice that the Board will be closely scrutinizing #IPR petitions, including aspects of the petition that set forth the prior art arguments. Patent litigants should take care when preparing IPR petitions to ensure that expert declarations include specific facts/technical details.

I had the pleasure to do the opening of the jointly organized for the first time event between the Bulgarian Patent Office and ECTA, on an extremely important topic for the companies and the IP community – the trade secrets. As company's "treasury" of information about its business activity, trade secrets built up company’s competitive advantage over the years. More than 160 representatives of the IP professional community, experts and interested companies participated in the event. During the event were discused questions and exchanged practice on the law enforcement in the different jurisdictions of Bulgaria, Germany and Italy of the Directive on trade secrets, their features and challenges, as well as answered the questions: "Do you have a secret?" How to save it? Together we raised awareness of: Why it is so important to legally regulate trade secret protection against its unlawful acquisition, use and disclosure.
