Geotags are a type of metadata that can be found in an images' EXIF file and can give quick insight to where a photo was taken. BUT RESEARCHER BEWARE: Geotags and other EXIF data can be removed or manipulated by the uploader, making it essential to corroborate uncovered geotags. New book from Eliot Higgins of Bellingcat. I totally agree with Ritu Gill (OSINT Techniques). I am amazed how they have used crowdsourcing with collaborative efforts in the OSINT community. For me, the key thing to realize is the diverse skill sets that are out there. Remember, you don't need to be an expert in everything. It's more important to be a generalist, knowledgeable in many areas. Recognize your limits and don't hesitate to reach out to your fellow OSINT community. Leverage their expertise to support your investigations. Asking for help and acknowledging what you don't know is perfectly okay. Embrace collaboration and make it a core part of your strategy. Comment on what is your superpower and spread the word.
