We are hiring a PDRA for a project led by Stephen Mellon on ultra-sound based 3D reconstruction. The project bridges robotics positioning technology (visual and inertial) odometry with reconstruction of bones and joints. This role focuses on the latter role.

Congratulations to Sandipan Das for winning best student paper at IV2024! This research explored how to use embedded IMUs co-located with Lidars sensor to calibrate the position of the Lidar itself - particularly relevant for large autonomous vehicles such as those being developed by Scania Group. Sandipan has now also completed his PhD at KTH Royal Institute of Technology - bravo!

This week ,Jack Tu is presenting our recent work on freehand #Ultrasound 3D reconstruction at the IEEE MeMeA symposium this week w/ Russell Buchanan, Marco Camurri, Stephen Mellon. Our method fuses outward-facing Visual Odometry with dense Ultrasound reconstruction methods.
