There are numerous advantages to becoming a member of a nursing organization. One personal experience that particularly stands out is when I transitioned into a new role as a nurse manager. During this time, I had the opportunity to apply for a scholarship offered by AACN (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses). Their generous support and guidance played a crucial role in shaping my journey as a leader within the nursing community. I am sincerely grateful for the invaluable assistance they provided in my professional development.

What an amazing opportunity to empower 30 charge nurses and relief charge nurses in communication and conflict management using DISC. The room was brimming with enthusiastic new leaders who have the potential to shape and foster a positive and healthy work environment. I am filled with gratitude to have co-taught this section of the course with my colleague, Nancy Rivas. I am also truly thankful to have been honored with the AACN (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses) Continuing Professional Development Scholarship in 2018.
