🌀Disaster management isn't just about response—it's about RESILIENCE. 🌀 Hurricane Beryl, a Category 1 hurricane, made landfall with sustained winds of 75 mph. Despite the challenging conditions, the team embodies resilience in every step of the way from their response to our transition to community recovery. I absolutely love the feeling of walking into Halfprice Bookstore, surrounded by rows of books 📚 The stories of those who read the books before me intrigue me. I've never had the pleasure of meeting Troy, but I aspire to be a great leader like him one day! I'm looking forward to reading John C. Maxwell book The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork! What book are you reading?

There are numerous advantages to becoming a member of a nursing organization. One personal experience that particularly stands out is when I transitioned into a new role as a nurse manager. During this time, I had the opportunity to apply for a scholarship offered by AACN (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses). Their generous support and guidance played a crucial role in shaping my journey as a leader within the nursing community. I am sincerely grateful for the invaluable assistance they provided in my professional development.
"What an amazing opportunity to empower 30 charge nurses and relief charge nurses in communication and conflict management using DISC. The room was brimming with enthusiastic new leaders who have the potential to shape and foster a positive and healthy work environment. I am filled with gratitude to have co-taught this section of the course with my colleague, Nancy Rivas. I am also truly thankful to have been honored with the AACN Continuing Professional Development Scholarship in 2018. With their support, I was equipped with the knowledge and skills to pass on and train the next generation of leaders! #AunthenticLeadership #SkilledCommunication" - Maureen Joy Sain, BSN, RN, PCCN-K, CNML, MEDSURG-BC via LinkedIn #Repost

Reflecting on the profound impact we have on others can lead to a transformative journey of self-discovery. It is often astonishing how far-reaching our actions can be, even when we are unaware of their true effects. I vividly remember the moment when Ify, a compassionate new graduate nurse, presented me with a beautifully crafted plaque. Now, it proudly adorns the wall of my office, constantly reminding me of the meaningful connections we create through our actions. I urge you to take a moment today to deeply contemplate the potential influence of your words and deeds on those around you. Let us embrace this heightened awareness as a catalyst for nurturing warmth, especially for new nurses, positivity, and empathy in all our daily interactions. #SelfReflection #ImpactUnknown #SpreadPositivity
