Yesterday was bustling and we met some delightful people who we will certainly be connecting with. We discovered new software too that looked really promising (watch this space). However... My only hang up was that, sadly, bookkeepers just don't seem to get the same respect and treatment as accountants. We were chatting to a number of other bookkeepers yesterday who said that when they approached certain exhibitors there was a look of disappointment and dismissive attitude as though they weren't a valuable lead. We've come across this too. We were told straight up by one person, before they even explained it, that their software wouldn't be relevant for us, and actually it was. It's bizarre. Bookkeepers use software packages everyday, they know systems inside out. They are often asked by clients to find software solutions and train them how to use software correctly. We also work closely with Accountants and are asked for software recommendations from them too. I'd like to say thank you to all those who didn't treat us differently than accountants.
