When applying for a Job, what they are looking for isn't certificates, it's experience. The question is, before going in for a Job, which experience do you have regarding that particular Job?. Many people nowadays fall victims because the certificates is their target and they forget to gather experience. #ExperienceLeadsToCompetency# Let's gather Experience in whatsoever thing we desire to do because Experience gives us the individuals competency.

In 2023, we proudly introduced the Sales Apprenticeship Initiative, aimed at equipping upcoming sales trailblazers with unparalleled training and guidance. Over an immersive 12-month span, our apprentices immerse themselves in all aspects of Global, engaging in hands-on roles across vital support divisions. This holistic approach to learning empowers them to grasp the intricate facets that constitute a triumphant sales unit. As they reach the midway juncture of their journey, we caught up with Jon to capture his experience. Jon D. was previously a Key Account Manager and Sales Representative in Maine. He was excited about the program because he saw it as an opportunity to learn more about the oil and gas industry from an industry leader like Global. Of the experience so far, Jon said, “Everyone I’ve worked with is so nice and helpful and they go out of their way to make sure you are learning and getting the most out of the time in each rotation.” What’s been your favorite project so far? I really enjoyed working with the Merchandising team to help implement and install the “Modular Front Counter” design rollout in our company operated c-stores. This was an interesting project to be a part of because it is a major step towards brand and image cohesiveness across our sites and I got to meet and work with some awesome people! What piece of advice has someone else given you that has impacted your life & why? Don’t take advice from someone if you wouldn’t want to be in their position. Their advice/ideas got them there. How would others describe your leadership style? Hands-on. I like to lead by example and I have no issue getting dirty and in the mix to see a project to fruition. #SalesApprenticeship #FutureLeaders #GrowWithGlobal #MAApprenticeNetwork Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce

Great to reflect on key insights from the recent Bapcor Drive Expo! Last week, I had the opportunity to attend a compelling session led by Martin Storey, Executive GM of Bapcor New Zealand. Joined by panelists Lesley Yates from AAAA and Lee Marshall from MTA, who delved into the evolving dynamics of automotive apprenticeship programs on both sides of the Tasman. One aspect of the discussion was centered around the need for significant reforms in the training frameworks within Australia and New Zealand. Despite the substantial efforts by the previous NZ Government to 'enhance' skills training through initiatives like Te Pūkenga, the automotive industry very much faces a critical shortage of Automotive Technicians. Why should the responsibility of managing apprenticeship programs stand with Government? My experiences with MITO (Motor Industry Training Organisation) highlighted that when industry experts lead the management and oversight of apprentice training programs it yielded effective results. I strongly advocate for the current Government revert to empowering industry professionals to again take the reins. By leveraging our expertise, we can confidently address and overcome the technician shortage in New Zealand. Let’s put trust back into the hands of those who know our industry best! #AutomotiveIndustry #ApprenticeshipPrograms #ProfessionalDevelopment #WorkforceTraining #NewZealand

If still open James Mears going for £125.54. Great that you are supporting apprenticeships into your firm - all my own work honest! James Mears, who started his career in logistics at Davies Turner in September 2001, mentioned that his first weekly pay was £1**..**, with the exact amount partially obscured. This suggests that the weekly pay for an entry-level position at Davies Turner in 2001 was likely around £100-£199 per week. It's important to note that apprentice wages have changed significantly since 2001. Currently, the National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice is £6.40 per hour. This rate applies to apprentices aged 16 to 18 and those aged 19 or over in their first year. For a typical 40-hour work week, this would amount to £256 per week in 2024. Given the significant changes in minimum wage laws and economic conditions over the past two decades, the apprentice pay at Davies Turner in 2001 was likely lower than current rates.
Davies Turner (MIFT) September 2001 my career started in logistics. In my opinion DT are logistics leaders in apprenticeships. I will send you a case of Italian wine if you can guess how much my first WEEKLY pay was ? £1**..** P.S .. We have a daily groupage service to/from Italy. ADR - Temp control - Carnet - personal effects - food stuffs - barcode, regime 42 - overhead loading/unloading - express groupage - Classic cars - MILAN - VERONA - ROME

Sales Trainer and Comedy Writer, Guru-Hunter & Overall Exposer of Lameassery. Add in Biz-Poet because poetry rocks and I have over 3 decades of biz experience to rhyme about!😎 Atypical all the way.
Did you know in the 1800s in order for an apprentice to become 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 they had to join large groups of other hopeful apprentices in massive meeting halls? 😮 They would sit for hours and listen to a 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 who would motivate them and excite them and tell them that once they left the 3 day gathering they would be able to begin working as true Master Teachers - as long as they 𝑩𝑬𝑳𝑰𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑫! 😏 Not Really. Because that's stupid and no mildly intelligent apprentice would ever fall for it. Stop listening to the 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 about the event or the mastermind or the "we'll turn you into a best-selling this or that in 3 days" sales gimmicks. Instead, 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝. Choose to have someone come alongside you in order to guide you and hold you accountable. We learn by doing more than reading about doing or listening to motivational keynotes about doing. Work takes Work 🛠 ✌ Together We Rise!

Business Owner at Big Occasion Events and National Accounts Executive supporting our UK customer base and Regional Sales Team
At the weekend the in-laws were picking my brains as they need to replace their shed The other laughed as I reeled off all this information to help them decide between our 4Life and Beckwood shed and which size to go for. Now what I realised is that as much as my true passion is clearly Weddings and Events, I am picking up some great sales skills with my job. Definitely enhanced by the Level 4 Sales Executive Apprenticeship that I undertook. It's made me realise that the sales skills I'm using every day at work, I am not using fully in my business. I know the irony? How many skills do you have that you find yourself not using? . . . . #SalesSkills #TransferableSkills #SalesIsEasy #SellingWithoutSelling

SUCCESS STORY: Customer: Training provider Amount: £250,000 Feature: Multi-drawdown Term: 5-year Interest-only Approved by Accredo ☑ A well established company providing apprenticeship and training programs approached Accredo looking for £250,000 to fund the development of their training programmes. Their expansion was phased so they didn't need to take all the funds on day one, but they did need the assurance that funds would be available to plan their growth. Our underwriters approved the full £250,000 facility secured by a charge on the directors' residential property and, together with the broker and customer, business plan and forecasts were reviewed. It was agreed that splitting the facility into five drawdowns of £50,000, each on a 5-year interest-only profile, was the most cost effective way to support the business's development goals. After the first loan was paid out, the director took the further 4 drawdowns when it was convenient for the business, with just 48 hours' notice. Do you have a client you'd like to discuss with us? Give us a call on 01444 255915 #SuccessStory #ApprovedByAccredo #SecuredBusinessFinance

Wise words here from Michael Weston - Invest in conversations!
Lived Experience Motivational Speaker, Mental Health Advocate, Workplace Mentoring, Peer Support, Leadership Training
Im a strong believer that by investing in a conversation, you will always hear someones story with some that may surprise you. Today whilst at WesTrac Cat in South Guildford WA, I met an extraordinary young man by the name of Tom who has started his Apprenticeship at WesTrac Cat this week. In a 5 minute conversation, Tom shared his own story which was nothing short of inspirational. It's a great reminder that we all have our own life stories but it is most powerful when shared with others.

Michael Weston knows what's up - investing in conversations at work with your team members is what creates a stronger culture, tighter teams and a positive overall environment... impacting everything from productivity to retention. If you overhear your co-workers having a chin wag and think to yourself "I wish they'd just shut up and get some work done instead of yapping" - you are ignorant and, more than likely, contributing to a negative workplace culture - even if you don't realise it or think you are. IMO, it's the dead silent co-workers who, whether intentionally or unintentionally, are closed off and unapproachable who you should be concerned about. They would probably benefit from a conversation more than anyone! Yes, even the introverted ones. Sure, there is a line - you can't just chat all day at work - I get that. But a workplace that rewards clocking in and out with zero chat is not the type of workplace that will maintain consistent high retention and productivity levels. In closing, you never know what impact your story could have on someone else (honestly, it could save a life in extreme circumstances) and likewise, you never know what impact you'll have on the storyteller by simply taking some time out to listen. Granted, you might need to work a little harder on introverts... but I assure you, it's worth it. Late night LinkedIn rant over!
