In NonProfit PRO’s “2023 Nonprofit Leadership Impact Study,” they discovered that the biggest challenge influencing board effectiveness was obtaining active fundraising participation from board members. With 70% of respondents citing that hurdle within their top three board challenges, that response polled 5 percentage points higher than the previous survey. Every other year I teach a class in fundraising and resource development to undergraduates majoring in Nonprofit Leadership. The last chapter of the text covers managing public trust and confidence. We talk about "overhead". I use this video, now dated, because it makes the point eloquently.
