Happy Veterans Day to my fellow former service men and women along with the families of veterans who have supported us along the way! It remains a humbling reminder of the sacrifice many have made and those that many continue to make when faced with adversity on behalf of our country. And thank you American Clean Power Association (ACP) for recognizing their contributions to this industry. https://lnkd.in/gGWwE45f As a veteran (former military professional) in my humble opinion there is no greater calling than defending our freedom from enemies both foreign and domestic - "the oath to the constitution". Similarly, as an energy professional there is no greater calling than progressing forward energy transition solutions to defend our planet from threats of climate change - "no oath needed to convince me otherwise". To no surprise neither mission is easy. Both missions are faced with a myriad of controversies and challenges on similar matters. ·        Who are our enemies and are they a threat?  ·        Can we defeat them and what does success look like in doing so?  ·        How long will it take to see progress?  ·        What ways and at what pace do we combat our enemy and how much are we willing to sacrifice for this mission as an individual, as a team and broader in the near term for uncertain long-term gains?  ·        How do we avoid unintended impacts to the most vulnerable during the fight/projection execution?  ·        Who plays a role in completing this mission, the professionals alone or society at large (far removed from the front lines)?  ·        What will it take for us to fight effectively as a team?  ·        Should resources be diverted away from our fighters and their missions to tackle more immediate and easier to value causes, what is the right allocation? The debates on aligning everyone on what we do will continue to be complex (even while we are currently progressing on our actions). But one thing is for sure, when the mission duty/calls to respond (decisions are taken and capital resources deployed) rest assured our U.S. military service members proven conviction can be counted on to give it their all no matter how difficult it is to serve and navigate the best course of action to fulfill their mission.  Albeit no military institution or individual is perfect, there are countless examples of how their conviction serves as a standard for me and hopefully many others to emulate during tumultuous Energy Transition times when it feels easy to quit and let it be our future generation's problem. Let's be resilient and keep up the good fight! Advancing Military Technology: I couldn't be more proud to share a few of this year's achievements for the Defense & Systems business at GE Aerospace. To ring out the year, I wanted to recognize the big three in 2023 that the outstanding Defense & Systems team accomplished that will make an impact in our business for years to come.   🏅 First, our T901 engines were accepted by the U.S. Army: Built on GE's unparalleled experience powering the Black Hawk and Apache for four decades, our next-generation rotorcraft engines were officially accepted this October by the Army in support of the Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) Competitive Prototype program.     🥇Second, our XA100 engines completed additional testing: This fall, our second XA100 engine successfully completed its third round of testing. This accomplishment moved the advanced engine technology closer to the hands of America’s warfighters, with learnings that could support the Next Generation Adaptive Propulsion program.     🏅 And finally, our Avionics technology was selected for FLRAA, the U.S. Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft program: Our digital backbone, voice and data recorder and health awareness systems were selected by Bell in support of the U.S. Army’s FLRAA program. These technologies will enable rapid testing, verification, and fielding of mission-focused capabilities for future vertical lift programs. These achievements showcase GE Aerospace's commitment to excellence, and the caliber of our incredible teams as we work to continue to advance military technology.   Let’s keep the conversation going. These information below were read in 2010. I think Westinghouse or a company alike made the programming softwares used in industry using math and smart mechanics. I read somewhere on google before. Now read the main theme of the post: Siemens and its original entities emerge as Siemens today installed turbine machines on aircraft carriers and military ships and as well they designed the softwares for these engines, and some of the electronics warfare software for armies. What left when you run the ships with these engines. They are the most important equipment after them military jet fighters and helicopters with rockets. Engines in Siemens are as important as these military equipment but I think the personnel in Siemens belong to the military establishment in America. This topic keeps coming up! Really happy to see initiatives that help military personnel in their transition. This specific initiative helps Active Duty aircraft technicians earn all the required FAA certifications BEFORE they leave active duty, so that they can enter the commercial aviation workforce as A&P licensed aircraft mechanics without missing a beat. I love these ideas that "take the pressure off" the mil-to-civ transition and provide great opportunities for veterans. And of course they also help companies like mine find talent for their aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. Win-win!

For Part 6 Michael Labeit and Thomas Wire discuss Power Generation equipment currrently in use at the batallion level both domestically and abroad. New generators that are powering our efforts at the tip of the spear. I learned about a new equipment manufacturer DEIF which makes the Automatic GENSET controller and the Digital Voltage Controllers for the USACE's new 810D Generators.
