In the early days of Triage, almost all of our searches were ‘firsts’ for us, and in more ways than one; our first search was the first time we had hired a CFO, the first time we had worked in Francophone Africa, the first time (but not the last) that we rescued the failed search of a SHREK firm, and more. Whether it was running searches in Portuguese and translating all of our documentation for clients in Angola and Mozambique, or delivering searches in countries where we didn’t have any networks, for example, Mali and Burkina Faso, we have successfully navigated the complexity and nuance of not just doing business in Africa, but in doing life too. This catalogue of firsts and the lessons we learned through each one has become the foundation to every search, one where we assume nothing. This enables us to start every search fresh and with eyes wide open, and it is the reason why so many of our new clients come to us with their ‘firsts’, and, of course, to rescue failed searches too.

Overcoming Financial Barriers in Central and West Africa Access to formal financial services is essential for economic empowerment and growth, yet many in Central and West Africa face significant barriers. According to a report by Soumaré et al. (2016), these barriers include insufficient funds, lack of required documentation, high financial service costs, distance to formal institutions, and a pervasive lack of trust. These challenges highlight the urgent need for innovative solutions like Knabu. We believe in breaking down these barriers to create a more inclusive financial landscape in the region. Through our cooperative financial model, we're working towards providing accessible, affordable, and trustworthy financial services to all. Join us in the mission to empower individuals, families, and communities in Africa and the global south to overcome these hurdles and achieve financial security. Together, we can transform these challenges into opportunities for growth and prosperity. 💪🌍💼 #FinancialInclusion #CentralAfrica #WestAfrica #FinancialAccess #KnabuImpact

The Republic of Cameroon is a sending country with US$1.5 billion sent in 2021, with over 85% of it sent to the Nigeria corridor. But remittance prices are high at 11.9% and 3.5% on average for outbound and inbound remittances (for an amount of US$200). For more such information, access the #MigrantMoney Monitor on #Cameroon, compiled by the @United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) as a ready reckoner on the country's state of policy, regulatory, innovation, and investment environment to enable affordable access to remittances and financial services for migrants and their families. https://lnkd.in/ei2KmabS #ECCAS
