From our recent client visits with firms in New York, California and Texas, we are seeing one strong theme coming through. Everyone wants 4th and 5th years. Most firms feel they have enough 1st and 2nd years and are very unlikely to hire at this level. At a 3rd year level things start to look up. For 6th and 7th years, it's an important time to ensure you are in the best place for progression and if not, to position yourself in a firm where you have a clearer, less opaque runway to partnership. You should definitely be talking to us. But 4th and 5th years, with good deal experience, you are in the hot seat. This is not about job opportunities, this about choosing the best firm for your career. You have options. Choose wisely!
