Very interesting topic and a proposal to consider. Promotion/relegation could incentivize schools to invest in their programs, which could ultimately lead to greater revenue and better talent parity. It could also protect other varsity sports from the plight of travel for sports that play more than once per week with a smaller budget, unlike football.
