This summer, Hunter is working on the West Harbor Phase 1A project, and his favorite part is how close it is to the ocean and beach. Hunter's favorite aspect of interning at MATT Construction is the kind and supportive people on the team. His biggest takeaway from this internship is realizing how much there is to learn about the construction industry. 🌟 Summer Intern Spotlight: Sirelis Ploche 🌟 Meet Sirelis, a rising junior at USC majoring in civil engineering with an emphasis in construction management. This summer, she’s working on the Hammer Museum project, where she enjoys learning from some of the most organized, level-headed, and kind leaders she has ever met. Sirelis loves the hands-on learning experience at MATT, supported by incredibly patient and knowledgeable mentors. Her biggest takeaway from this internship is understanding that every detail is crucial for smooth project execution—nothing should be assumed or taken for granted. Oscar and Kyle have been particularly influential during her time here, helping her grow and improve steadily with their guidance and support. Knowing that each day of this internship mirrors what her future career will look like inspires Sirelis to put on her MATT hardhat every day. 🌟 Summer Intern Spotlight: Amber Ngo 🌟 Meet Amber Ngo, a senior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, majoring in Architecture with a minor in Architectural Engineering. Amber is spending her summer working on the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum project. Her favorite part? The new welcome center featuring a 70-foot-long sauropod skeleton! 🦕 Amber loves the hands-on involvement in the construction process at MATT and the variety of tasks that keep every day exciting. Contributing to real, impactful projects motivates her to put on her MATT hardhat each day. Amber's biggest takeaway from her internship is the importance of teamwork and continuous learning. She admires her co-workers, especially the women who exemplify leadership in a male-dominated industry.
