People believe what they see. As leaders come up through the ranks, it’s vital that their presence penetrates every level within an organization. You needn’t have the most profound commentary in the room; rather, a well-timed question or thoughtful nod of acknowledgment is all that’s needed to say, “I am listening. I am learning. I am engaged.” One of the most critical roles of a leader is to bring people along with them on the journey. From investors to staff members to every employee within the organization, a leader must be visible… and felt. Turn on your camera, walk the floor, take a coffee break with the team. Will people think you have too much free time on your hands? Not at all. They’ll think you care and are truly invested in the success of the organization.
