RYLA changed my life at the age of 15. So much so that I’ve volunteered for Rotary District 5280’s RYLA for the past 18 years. The lessons that I learned and now teach at RYLA are the foundation of my work ethic and style. They inform the ways I navigate leadership, team dynamics, productivity, and problem-solving. We teach students about their working personalities and how those personalities connect and conflict with each other in team settings. We teach students how to utilize the fundamental “Four C’s of Leadership”: Communication, Creativity, Compassion, and Cooperation. We give students a safe space where they can express themselves freely without judgment. We teach students not how to think outside the box, but how to think like there is no box. #RYLA #leadership #serviceaboveself #thereisnobox

The Globally Recognised Authority Enabling Leaders & Organisations to Navigate Inflection Moments & FutureProof Success
Why do Offsites & Inflection Moments go hand in hand? I believe it’s because not all Leadership Time is created equal. Too often as Leaders we are trappped by the relentless demands of the Second and Minute Hands. Offsites can give us the reflective space to work on the Hour Hand - the long-term Direction we set and how we can collectively navigate the Inflection Moment ahead. So as Leaders we can determine the next mountain to climb. And while deep and often intense, they can also be playful, interactive and deeply memorable experiences. I’m grateful to the Leadership Team at JKS Restaurants for allowing us to peak inside the Rooms where it all happened. The group has more Michelin Stars than any UK other restaurant group, and are poised for a very exciting new chapter of growth. It’s been wonderful to support them on their Inflection Journey, at the offsite but also well beyond. If you are facing an Inflection Moment ahead and want to take time and space as a Leadership Team to navigate it, please feel free to reach out. (Full disclosure: I don’t facilitate “jollies”.) Thanks Jyotin, Sunaina, Karam, Laura & the whole JKS team for the wonderful video. (And other Leaders I have run Offsites with). A tip: I suggest watching it with the music on! Our Senior Leadership Team recently went to Birch Community in Cheshunt for our very first leadership retreat. While we ate, drank and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings we also collaborated to shape our departmental goals for the future and consolidate our strategies for growth. Our inspirational facilitator Sharath Jeevan OBE joined us on the journey to challenge our thinking with interactive exercises, team building and open conversations. Retired Plumbing Contractor in search of ways to serve the Community.
8moGreat to see the Martignetti Companies name. As a much younger man, I worked at Martignetti's Liquor store on Soldiers Field Road Brighton in the early 80's and of course there was the 2nd store in the North End. My gosh a name just came to me .... Bill Suave... Wow. Outstanding company to work for.... Class all the way.
