Partner at Augmentum Fintech

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” After more than a decade as a venture investor, this week will mark the end of an era for me. I am leaving Augmentum Fintech, the fund that has been my home for the last six and a half years, and which has profoundly shaped my journey in the venture capital space. Leaving a role has never quite felt like this before. I am not just parting with an outstanding team who have pushed and challenged me to be better every single day; I am also saying goodbye to friends with whom I have shared countless memorable moments. The camaraderie and mutual respect we have built together have been the backbone of my professional life. I will truly miss working in this extraordinary environment. I will miss the brilliant entrepreneurs who pass through our doors week after week, each bringing innovative new models and inspiring ideas. I know that the team will continue to build on the tremendous successes we have achieved to date – the strong NAV growth and the six exits at or above NAV to name but two. The existing portfolio of fintech leaders will continue to thrive, and Augmentum will undoubtedly build further on its position as a leading force in European fintech. Bright roads filled with the promise of new beginnings and exciting adventures stretch ahead for me back on the other side of the venture table. Watch this space in the very near future… Thank you so much to my amazing team, and best of everything moving forward - Tim Levene it has been my privilege to work under your leadership. Richard Matthews, Perry Blacher, Ellen Logan, Reginald de Wasseige, Johnnie Martin, Harry Jones, Georgie Hazell Kivell, Martha Horrox, Maliha Mooney, Nigel Szembel, Sofia Wiecko – it has been my honour to work with each and every one of you. I wish you all the very best moving forward.

It lasted longer than the few months post IPO when I asked if you'd help Richard and me put some structure and rigour to this emerging fund. I know the path back to a C level operational role has taken a back seat while you helped us scale, but I've no doubt you will take the next challenge very much in your stride.

Best of luck with what sounds like an exciting venture to come with a legacy to journey onward.

Dear Martyn Holman - how apt we met a few years ago for the first time in a cyclist cafe next to the (old) offices. Thank you so much for your passion and dedication and for always pushing the new tech focus forward. Good luck on your next ‘ride’!
