Sounds like a man who knows he's going to loose. At a rally in Ohio Trump said if he doesn't get elected "it’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it.” So there you have it folks. A direct threat against democracy and the rule of law. I appeal to my fellow Americans and ask: How much longer are we going to tolerate this? We have a system of democracy which allows us to vote and choose our president without violence but here for the first time in history is a candidate who, even before the election has started, says he won't accept the outcome of the election. Just like the run up to the 2020 election by the way. Abiding by the outcome of the election should be a prerequisite to being on the ballot. We are not to be pushed around by a bully threatening us with a "bloodbath" which he says will be "the least of it". If you or I posted threats like that on LinkedIn about a "bloodbath" if the election doesn't go our way, we could surely expect our posts to be taken down and for good reason. But we must use our power by turning out and voting in November, even if you live in a deep red or deep blue state. Either Biden or Trump will win this election, so choose one. Third party candidates will be on the ballot, but none of them have a chance of winning the presidency. If it's not a possibility, it's not really an option. Voting this way effectively deprives you of your vote. We also have capitalism which allows us to vote with our wallets. Until now it was accepted that corporations would support one or even both political candidates. Not anymore. #politics #leadership #unitedstates Former president Barack Obama wants Americans to register to vote and go out and vote in droves, voluntarily as it is done in United States of America, whether it is the ballot of electoral contests or the bullets of guns on American streets and war abroad. The turnout in both elections and the military is on the decline. While that of domestic guns is on the rise. Perhaps, decline in military voluntarism is acceptable after a near permanent state of war and continuing now in Ukraine since 9/11 resembling George Orwell’s 1984. There is, as a consequence, both apathy and antipathy in democratic politics. Obama’s concern is understandable. Obama was a pioneer in campaigning by small donations, political micro finance if you will, and by social media with his then political strategist David Plouffe doing an extraordinary job at it bombarding voters of all political persuasions with mass electronic communications that were not a nuisance in the inboxes. Still, voting of one person one vote is not enough, when the votes of few can literally buy a bigger voice and more power than the votes of the many. All campaign finance by private interest groups and corporations must be banned, money is not political free speech, and small individual donations not exceeding $2000 or any other reasonably low number at any frequency should be the only acceptable way to support the monetary needs of any person seeking elective office. @1_776 on X. Lobbying means, as George Washington said, a citizen writing a letter, which today does not even cost a postage stamp, other than paying for an internet connection, an elected official reading it, and doing something about it if it makes sense upon transparent public deliberation.

In light of this weekend’s political events specific to President Biden, stepping away from his reelection campaign. I would like to put a few things out there. 1. Thank you to President Biden for his many years of service to this country. Just because you don’t agree with a persons “politics” doesn’t mean you shouldn’t respect their tenure. 2. This is an opportunity for the Democratic Party to do a reboot and take advantage of the situation to adopt a more moderate platform with attainable goals not vague positions. 3. A reminder that Ms. Harris should be vetted against other strong candidates, not just anointed by current or former politicians, party operatives, or the media, to ensure a credible ticket is put together that along with #2 above can provide a real challenge to the populist appeal of Mr Trump. 4. Use this as on opportunity to change the dialogue to a meaningful positive discussion of all issues that need to be addressed.

Dear President Biden: I understand all the calls for you to step aside. I also find them arrogant and judgmental. The certainty with which newspaper columnists, editorial boards, and Medium writers prognosticate, displays arrogance. Branding you as selfish if you don’t step aside exhibits judgmental attitudes. How do they know what’s in your heart and mind? If you truly believe you are still the best person to run the country and have a legitimate chance of keeping Trump from returning to the White House, staying in would not display selfishness (but perhaps stubbornness). You can dispense with all that. I find the notion of an open convention appealing if the DNC can come up with a fair process without it being a free-for-all or other form of spectacle. So Joe, here’s a way for you and all those calling for you to step aside to have your cakes and eat them too. If you believe in your heart that you just had a bad night at the debate, be courageous. Take a risk. Release your delegates but do not withdraw. Make your case at the convention, along with a reasonable number of others invited to make their case for themselves. No one should be seen as running against the others. No comparisons with or criticisms directed at the others. Let the delegates decide, no matter how many ballots or rounds of speeches with reducing fields it takes, to come to a nomination. Tell Kamala, she’s free to throw her hat in the ring so no one can accuse you of sidelining her. Perhaps require a super-majority to win the nomination. In this way Joe, no one can reasonably call you selfish. If you don’t prevail, you can go out with your head held high and set an example for future election processes. If you do prevail, all the pundits can write their mea culpas. In any event, even if you fail, you will be admired for your courage, and anyone worth their salt will see you as a success.
