Great to hear others talking about funds that are “accretive”! This is a key 🔑 & so often overlooked way to think about fund strategy. Not familiar with what accretive means for a venture fund? We broke it down in our newsletter (link 🔗 in comments), but tl;dr, it comes down to two things: (1) what makes an investment accretive to the fund = investment returns ~5x 💰 (2) what makes a fund accretive to the ecosystem = fund’s investments grow the pie of startup exits 🥧 #2 is critical for LPs to have in mind when thinking about VC strategy. Minimally, GPs should know if they’re growing the pie, or just fighting over it.
