Since this year,BusinessCode GmbH is member of the Open Logistics Foundation and the annual gathering #OSID2024 has proven this a very good decision. My colleague Michael Knümann and I spent two busy days of learning, discussing and networking in Berlin this week. My key takeaway is that the members are committed to use the power of open source and collaboration in order to become better and more effective in their core business of supporting customers with world class logistics services. We are happy to support in the journey and actively contribute in the working group Track&Trace (but more to come).

After being a sponsor for two years I had the honor to participate at the Global Logistics Associates (GLA) annual gathering in Cancun as their first affiliate member with BlueBox Systems GmbH. I enjoyed the time with the members listening, learning and discussing (and, yes, partying). Corona has profoundly changed the way suppliers and customer are interacting. Personal meetings are down by approx. 90% in our industry. The few meetings taking place in person become even more relevant and important. It was a great pleasure to meet our BusinessCode GmbH customer DHL Express in it Americas headquarter in Plantation, Florida. Thank you Eduardo Quintana, Jack Brown and Joe Mascarenhas for your time to discuss the roadmap and next steps of our collaboration. One of the hidden values of „meetings in person“ provide is the chance to meet other people as well. I had the great opportunity to discuss potential applications of our BlueBox Systems GmbH platform with Helcio DeAraujo and his team within DHL Global Forwarding. Thank you all for your time and the long term collaboration between our organizations and people. Next week, my „meet the customer tour“ will provide me with the opportunity to meet our key contacts in DHL IT Services in Cyberjaya and in DHL Express in the Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore.
