As a Receiving Supervisor, I am keenly aware that each day, my team and I have a positive impact on the company's success, our colleagues' endeavors, and, most importantly, the creations, designs, and dreams of our customers. Through dedication, attention to detail, accuracy, and hard work, my team and I leave a lasting impression. I often reflect on the intricate journey a fabric roll undergoes from its inception to its fulfillment. From designers, weavers, and planners to our logistics partners, warehouses, and ultimately into the waiting hands of the customer, every step is crucial. As a Receiving Supervisor, I don't simply handle and transport products; I handle a customer's vision. While I am not alone in this process, as there are many helping hands along the way, I play a critical role in ensuring that the fabric reaches its final destination—the customer. What is the most exciting part about your position? The most exciting aspect of my position lies in several areas. Firstly, witnessing the return of satisfied customers, knowing they trust our services, brings immense satisfaction. Secondly, ensuring 100% accuracy instills confidence in our customers, demonstrating our expertise and reliability. Additionally, at Ennis Fabrics, I have the opportunity to engage in forward-thinking endeavors, exploring innovations in warehousing, technology, and automation. This allows me to integrate my logistics expertise with my background in information technology, envisioning and implementing strategies for enhanced operational efficiency. Lastly, the joy of contributing to beautifying the world through vibrant colors, one roll at a time, adds a creative and fulfilling dimension to my role. What do you do the ensure a healthy work-life balance? Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is crucial to me, especially given the demands of working in a warehouse environment. To counteract the indoor work atmosphere, I prioritize spending time outdoors, embarking on adventures with my wife to explore new and captivating places. As a computer enthusiast, I immerse myself in the world of gaming, where I've developed a complex scenario for an MMO game incorporating elements from popular Sci-Fi franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek, Dune, Stargate, and BSG. Witnessing my creative vision come to life on screen is immensely fulfilling. Additionally, I indulge my passion for art, particularly in crafting Sci-Fi creations inspired by current events. Lastly, I cherish quality time with great friends, engaging in meaningful conversations over good beer, which adds a social and relaxing dimension to my life outside of work.

Time flies when you are having fun💃 Last week I suddenly received notifications and messages because of my 8-year work anniversary🎉Perfect moment to look back because time has flown by. My journey at H&S group started as a receptionist to get to know the company. I soon felt that the dynamics of a transport company did suit me. After 6 months I was asked to become a commercial assistant at H&S Filling. And that is where it begin. I had to deal with raw materials, packaging and quality requirements that I did not even know existed. Determined to learn the processes and work instructions, I became responsible for customer contact and complaint management. Over 2,5 years later, I got the opportunity to become Account Manager of the Filling and IBC Cleaning departments and took this challenge with passion and dedication. I believed in my own style and so I created not customers but partners based on cooperation and trust🤗 Our partner base grew and the department also expanded considerably. So I was ready for the next step, after another 2,5 years I became Business Unit Account Manager, means commercially responsible for the whole Business Unit Cleaning & Filling. I still hold this position and those who know me, this Business Unit has stolen my heart. I like to work hard and go far to achieve goals and I enormously enjoy the developments we are going through. Being passionate about something means that you’d probably do it for free right? As in you don’t just do it for 40 hours a week, between the hours of 9am and 5pm, and only on a weekday, but not if that weekday is a bank holiday. It’s probably about time the word “Passionate” got banned from job adverts I reckon. I like my job, I love my chosen career and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. But, I do not spend my free time reading CVs or market mapping the dev market in Finland because it’s a good old time. There are currently 150,000+ jobs on Indeed who are looking for passionate folk, including passionate bus drivers, passionate warehouse operatives, passionate sales advisors, passionate cleaners and passionate customer service engineers. What are companies expecting? “Please find attached my CV for the role of Complaints Advisor. I’m deeply passionate about being complained to and actively spend my weekend finding people who can have a good moan at me” I get that there are chosen career paths - nursing, teaching etc where there lots of people who are genuinely passionate about helping people. But these are the exception. If you are going to use the word passionate, give it some context.

My role at Kammac is Operations Controller at Warrington. I am responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our logistics and warehousing services. This role involves daily coordination, safety oversight, and proactive planning to optimise operations and provide essential support to the team. 2. What does your day-to-day look like? My day-to-day responsibilities involve directing the staff during the shift briefing, ensuring that they are aware of the tasks for the day. Throughout working hours, I ensure that all FLT drivers are working safely, adhering to our health and safety regulations. I also assist our admin in communicating with hauliers regarding inbound and outbound bookings, ensuring that our schedules are kept up-to-date. With any spare time, I assign additional tasks to help us plan ahead. This minimises the impact of emergency collections on our daily operations. I also provide support to my shift managers, assisting them with various tasks, expanding my understanding of a role I aspire to progress into one day. 3. What first attracted you to Kammac? I joined Kammac originally through an agency and then got offered a contract, and chose to take this as I've enjoyed the working environment and could see that, in my short time working through the agency, Kammac was expanding and investing in growing the business. 4. In your opinion what makes a great team? I think a great team is made up of every single employee from every department working in cohesion with each other. In my opinion, this makes everyone's job flow smoothly and also has a significant impact on people enjoying coming to work, creating the atmosphere everyone wants to work in. 5. How has your Kammac experience been so far? I have enjoyed my Kammac experience, since starting as an FLT driver, and now being entrusted with a step up into the position of Operations Controller. His prior roles include an 11-year stay as a Logistics Coordinator at Gentherm Automotive Systems, a thermal comfort products supplier, and another 11 years at SMS Logistics. Q&A with Ian: 1️⃣ What motivated you to pursue a career in logistics, and what drew you to Vladex? Honestly, this came by Chance. After finishing my initial studies at the age of 18, I applied for a clerical job at a local Freight forwarding company. This job opened the world of logistics to me, which I found interesting and challenging, to say the least. 2️⃣ What aspect of being an Assistant Operations Manager at Vladex excites you the most? What motivated me in particular are the everyday challenges of keeping the procurement, sales, and warehouse teams synchronized so that the goods can ultimately be smoothly transitioned to the customer. It's a balancing act—perhaps not to everyone's taste—but one that gives me a boost every day! 3️⃣ Outside of work, what hobbies, passions, and interests do you enjoy? I enjoy spending time with my family, whether it's travelling, supporting my kids in their sports activities, or playing board games at home. I also like to go trekking with friends and make it a weekly appointment. When I have time, I try to exercise at the gym. 4️⃣ What guidance would you offer to individuals aspiring to join Vladex?
