I was honored to attend the 40th annual Heritage Day of Portugal at the Massachusetts State House and host a luncheon on behalf of University of Massachusetts Dartmouth for the Portuguese delegation at the UMass Club at One Beacon. This event celebrates the rich cultural contributions of the Portuguese community in Massachusetts. This year, the Portuguese delegation honored Mayor Pedro Nascimento Cabral of Ponta Delgada, Azores, as the Guest of Honor and keynote speaker. #HeritageDayOfPortugal #Community #Culture #UMassDartmouth #RepTonyCabral #RepChrisHendricks #SenMichaelRodrigues #RepCarolDoherty #SenMarkPacheco #RepAlanSilvia #RepDavidVieira #LauraDouglas

Joan K. Jacobs and her family have played a crucial role in helping hundreds of UMass Dartmouth students achieve their college dreams. With Mrs. Jacobs' recent passing, the SouthCoast philanthropic community has lost a significant figure, but her legacy endures through UMass Dartmouth programs. Since 2009, The Jacobs Family Fund has generously supported initiatives making college accessible for students facing hardships. Joan and Irwin's commitment to education has been transformative for the SouthCoast, making college dreams a reality and enriching our community. #Education #Philanthropy #UMassDartmouth #Legacy #CommunitySupport #HigherEducation #StudentSuccess

Great article by University of Massachusetts alum David Fubini on the job search. Applicable beyond the consulting industry. Worth a read for recent grads!
Now that Commencement season is almost in the rear view, the job market is again a central focus for many graduates. This is especially true for those hoping to start careers in management consulting. In this recent piece, with HBS Working Knowledge, I offer some advice on how to navigate the tough conditions many are experiencing. Three key actions are needed for those applying right now; First, make sure you broaden your search to look beyond the "Big Three" consulting firms. Secondly, identify and focus your interviewing on the unique strengths that differentiate you. Finally, with so many firms cutting jobs and slowing hiring, demonstrate a flexibility to meet hiring firms' unique needs.
