Chair Emeritus, Department of Surgery at LifeBridge Health System, Baltimore; Director, Aging Surgeon Program; Author of Thorax, a medical thriller
Started retirement with a bang. CBS Sunday Morning story featuring our Aging Surgeon Program was rebroadcast Sunday, then I retired at midnight, then did not set alarm for 4 am, then had waffles and maple syrup for breakfast, then started work on the sequel to my medical thriller, Thorax. Miss caring for patients already, though not the ever-present subconscious concern for one not doing well. We will see...
Congratulations Mark - for your well earned retirement - for an impressive career as clincian, academic, educator, and leader - for the impact you have had on the assessment of aging surgeons - and so much more. Thank you for your mentorship and friendship. Tom
Great update! Congratulations ! I retired clinically this spring. I have some roles in medical management that are pretty flexible.
Congratulations Mark, it was a pleasure working with you. Enjoy, the transition is tough. I had to retire after I had neck surgery and have dreams all the time about the OR.
