I was honored to be part of the official construction launch for the new #Berlin Center for Cell and Gene Therapies on Friday. This is a major, future-building initiative, and I congratulate Bayer CEO Stefan Oelrich and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin Chairman Heyo Kroemer on getting this project off the ground. In Germany, there is real opportunity for #biotech, but first there is a crucial need to revamp #technologytransfer and #venturecapital, and to foster a mindset shift that allows academics to benefit from translational activities.
