The collaboration between the Ports of 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 marks a significant step towards advancing green and digital shipping practices in the maritime industry. Through discussions held on March 17, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Port of Southampton have affirmed their commitment to fostering sustainable maritime transport, in line with the UK-Singapore Green Economy Framework (UKSGEF). Recognizing the importance of cooperation among stakeholders, both ports underscored the need for joint efforts to drive decarbonization, digitalization, and growth within the maritime sector. Alastair Welch, ABP’s Regional Director for Southampton, emphasized the pivotal role of partnerships in driving tangible progress, citing the Port of Southampton's leading position as the UK’s primary shore-power provider. Chief Executive Teo Eng Dih of MPA expressed gratitude for the collaboration, highlighting the opportunity to address common challenges and exchange insights on maritime sustainability. Moreover, MPA's recent Letter of Intent with the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) underscores a broader commitment to advancing maritime digitalization and decarbonization initiatives, focusing on technical standards and unified requirements for safe implementation across various key areas. The research will enhance our understanding in environmental opportunities and challenges across the studios by doing a cross-regional evaluation. With the collaboration of industry partners, film organisations and production studios, we will culminate our knowledge to create effective solutions for a sector-wide impact.

🌎 Today we had an opportunity to take a part at 19th International Maritime Conference, which is organized by The Estonian Shipowners Association, TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy, Tallink Grupp and Corpore Conferences. The main focus of the conference this time was on sustainable maritime affairs. Different interesting discussions were brought together - maritime, transport, public and academic sectors and companies from Estonia and neighboring countries. 🤝 Estonia main focus is on collaboration between private and public sectors, to develop Estonia innovation and future views. For example, Rohetiiger is a cross-sector collaboration platform which aims to devise, teach, and implement a plan for a balanced economy. The Green Tiger seeks a green leap in the development of Estonian society through cooperation with individuals, businesses, the public sector, and NGOs. 🚢 Today it was proved that Estonia has strong potential to take leadership role in these developments.
