We also train healthcare professionals, educate families, and advocate for health equity. 🔬Research: To address the maternal and infant health crisis, we fund innovative research, investing nearly $6M across 42 awardees, uncovering breakthroughs with 5 Prematurity Research Centers, publishing 82 articles, and supporting early-stage ventures through our Innovation Fund. 🤝Community collaboration: We collaborate with over 20K volunteers and partners to support moms and babies everywhere. March for Babies brings together families, volunteers, corporate partners, and communities, helping raise $26M to go back into our mission.

16 years ago, my daughter was born 10 weeks early and weighed only 1 pound, 9 ounces. Today, she is thriving (and driving!). 💜 Today is #WorldPrematurityDay, and I am joining the March of Dimes in helping to raise awareness of the global crisis of prematurity, and raising funds to support research, education, advocacy, and programs to end preventable preterm birth and help all families have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. Philadelphia continues to feel the effects of the relentless opioid crisis. While the city has a robust network of services and dedicated government, public health, and medical professionals, the treatment system is complex, fragmented, and perceived to be inaccessible to many people seeking care. These illustrations showcase a few examples of how we’re continuing to improve the lives of children born prematurely and their families. But there’s still so much more to be done.
