💊The best medicine against the pervading sense of being powerless is giving, is problem solving, is being in community with others for the common good. Seeing our amazing young #Changemakers on the main evening news is quite something. In a world of uncertainty and complexity, we need all children and young people to grow up knowing and role modeling their #Changemaking powers for all of us. Thank you dear Banan, Lina, Stephanie Cox, Alina Sammer for showing us this week! #EveryoneAChangemaker

What a week full of wonderful surprises 🤩 It started off with us finding out that we are one of the 77 projects chosen by the so-called Good Council for Redistribution, which is a citizen assembly-like group representative of the Austrian population in terms of age, geography, education, job, migration background, etc., tasked and mandated by heiress Marlene Engelhorn to decide on how to redistribute 25 million euros of her wealth back to society. Being recognized alongside such great organizations as KONTEXT Institut für Klimafragen, Teach For Austria, Hobby Lobby - Kein Bock auf Couch, Breaking Grounds – Social Change through Sport, and many more is amazing! Then, another delightful surprise happened: Felix Keiser from ZIB, the flagship news program by Austria's national public TV, visited us in the office and captured our joy and surprised faces. We talked about our Ashoka Austria initiative >>Generation Changemaker<<, which I had the delight to build together with a great team and partners for over a year. It makes me beyond proud to also see our young changemakers Lina and Banan in the prime-time news show of the country. Because this is one of our goals at >> Generation Changemaker << : making young changemakers step into their power, and this also means speaking for themselves and sharing their powerful stories. 🙌 High five to all the amazing people who have been part of the GenC journey so far: Marie, Karin, Valerie, Alina, Raphaela, Olga, Luca, Michael, Linda, Rebekka, Johannes, Michael, Alexandra, Olga, Beatrice, all the GenC's and many more. __ By the way: What was super interesting to see on my newsfeed this week: It was full of discussions about #wealth, #inequality, and #power. Marlene Engelhorn set a powerful example by giving away 90% of her inheritance and especially -how- she did it.
