While the word is used interchangeably for charity, tzedakah is seen as a form of social justice provided by the donor as well as those who utilize the support to do their work and those who allow the support into their lives. As is the case with justice, this critical social responsibility cannot be done to someone – rather, it must be done with someone. In Hebrew, the word meaning "to give" is Natan. In Hebrew and in English, the word can be read forward and backward, so when we think about philanthropy and idea of “to give” it is also about “to receive.” So much more than a financial transaction, philanthropy in the spirit of tzedakah builds trusting relationships and recognizes contributions of time, effort, and insight. ” Many new doctors will be birthed from this donation,- bettering society.

3 Years ago today......All's Well That Crosses Well. Save the Adirondack 25 ranks as the most successful short term non-profit project that I have ever been a (small) part of, and perhaps even remove a lot of those limiting descriptors. The Adirondack 25 (Alco RSC2) had been sitting next to the Utica Children's Museum for decades, but a change in ownership meant it had to be moved quickly or scrapped. Short version, it was moved. The lessons include: 1 - Gather a team of good people, let everyone do what they are good at.....which is why you gathered them in the first place. 2 - Make sure your project has a defined purpose and scope that can be explained to potential donors and stakeholders. 3 - Never confuse the fact that a service does not have a cost with it not having a value. It made a safe trip across to the Genesee Valley Transportation Co., Inc. Mohawk, Adirondack, and Northern where a mechanical assessment will be done before it is moved to the Remsen Depot.

Meet Dr. Ruth Gottesman The 93 years old who donated $1bn to make tution free in a school forever. Dr Ruth Gottesman recently gave the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) a donation of $1bn to fund the tution fee of current and future students at the medical school. Tuition is about $60,000 (£47,000) a year, leaving many students more than $200,000 (£158,000) in debt after they graduate. It is said to be the largest gift of its kind ever given in the US and will last a perpetuity. 🔵 Source of Wealth Dr Gottesman inherited a fortune of worth about $3bn from her later husband, Mr Gottesman He was an early investor in Warren Buffet's conglomerate (Berkshire Hathaway). Hero's like Dr Gottesman will help students like Jade Andrade, a student whose parents emigrated from the Philippines to become a Doctor. In Jade's words "Growing up in an immigrant household, there are very few life decisions that you make without thinking of the financial aspects of it." But once you remove the financial burden: "Anyone can dream bigger." Because of Dr Gottesman students and families of Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) can dream bigger dreams. The International Misophonia Foundation (IMF) is a newly forming non-profit based in The United States (Missouri). The IMF is founding with the goal of helping sufferers of Misophonia, their families, researchers, and clinicians to find resources for the disorder and help facilitate research on the disorder. Misophonia International will be officially joining the IMF as of September 1st, 2023. As we begin our journey, we are asking persons with Misophonia and their families to help us with this vision. We are offering a “Founding Donor” membership where you will have access to special discounts on conferences, any awareness merchandise, and free downloads and resources to share with loved ones and your community, as well as a reduced fee for researchers who are submitting their proposals. Founding Donors will receive LIFETIME access to this membership, whereas we will be charging yearly fees to regular, non-Founding Donor members.
