8 years ago was my first day at Google. It was a leap. I was also going from a senior manager and ‘group director’ (not that titles mean much) to an individual contributor in a marketing analytics role. Of course, I was still excited but that feeling faded as my onboarding experience wasn’t focused on my role or met my expectations. Since well, I’m me...I soon spoke up and shared what a great onboarding for analysts could look like to those with a Google director title. It turns out that moment changed my whole career trajectory in the best way possible. Today, I am returning from the #InnovationRoundtable in Paris, where I got to share how Google is creating a culture of learning. I now regularly get to speak about learning, my role and our teams impact - whether it's at the LPI #LearningLive event in London or upcoming L&D exec sessions in Tel Aviv. I've learned as humans age, things we wish we'd done (also called regret, which is totally normal to feel but so darn hard to acknowledge) skews towards things we haven't done vs. those we have. One category is called 'boldness regrets' (thanks Daniel Pink). The things that seem really scary at the time but could positively change our path. While there are certainly things I wish I'd done differently (not calling them regrets 😏 ), I want to continue to challenge myself to say yes to the bold, scary things I know will make me and dare I say the world better. It's a pretty awesome feeling to believe in the work you're doing, love the team you lead, and see you're making a positive difference in yourself and others.

I'm thrilled to share that I recently attended a one-day live Google working experience. This incredible opportunity allowed me to dive deep into real-life projects and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry. Throughout the day, I was exposed to Google's innovative work environment and cutting-edge technologies. I worked on projects that challenged my skills and expanded my knowledge, learning directly from Google's experts. This experience gave me valuable insights into industry best practices and the latest technological advancements. One of the most rewarding aspects was the hands-on experience with tools and methodologies that Google uses in their day-to-day operations. It was fascinating to see how theoretical concepts are applied in real-world scenarios to solve complex problems efficiently. I am excited to bring these newfound skills and insights to my future projects and career endeavors. This experience has undoubtedly broadened my horizons and reinforced my passion for technology and innovation. 🎉 Celebrating 10 Years at Google! 🎉 On June 1st, 2014, I took a leap of faith and joined Google, never imagining it would become the longest and most rewarding chapter of my career so far. Here's a highlight of my dynamic decade in numbers: ⁣ •𝟑 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬: I’ve had the privilege of exploring various roles in Google Ads, Google Play, and YouTube (still feeling like a Noogler sometimes, though 😅).⁣ •𝟏𝟑 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 (𝟔 𝐢𝐧 𝟐 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬!): Changes are not uncommon in the tech industry. I've definitely learned how to thrive in ambiguity and comfortably adapt to any working/management style.⁣ •𝟐 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: With tremendous support from leadership and HR, I had a life-changing transfer from Japan to Singapore (more to come?).⁣ •𝟐𝟑 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬: Visited multiple offices across 13 countries and connected with amazing Googlers and business partners around the globe (who's up for our next adventure?).⁣ •𝟏𝟎𝐤𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐫: Thanks to Google's focus on employee well-being, I’ve even managed to shed a few pounds (kudos to the Google Food Team for preparing world-class healthy food and the Google gym instructors for pushing me hard!) .⁣ ⁣ There have been ups, downs, and everything in between, but it's been an incredibly fun and rewarding ride. The growth opportunities, the unwavering support from my colleagues, managers, mentors and coaches – I couldn't be more grateful to be part of this amazing Google family. There are only 4 days left until the end of the year ⏰, so here are the 4 key learnings from this year ⤵ 1️⃣ Be yourself and be authentic to your values. With your friends, work or family don't try to be someone else. 2️⃣ Build your network as much as possible, your network is your biggest asset. 3️⃣ Be uncomfortable doing things you never did before, this is what will help you grow and gain more self-confidence. 4️⃣ Put passion and effort in everything you do and the outcome will come alone.This is what I experienced while doing my thesis about Camino de Santiago. After these 365 days of experiences I have learnt that hard work and perseverance will take you further in life than any other talent.
