Creating a shared vision within an organization not dictating it fosters genuine commitment and alignment among team members. A vision should be collaboratively developed to ensure it serves as a cornerstone for organizational goals. Commitment arises when team members are involved in creating the organizational vision, leading to better alignment which is strengthened by the shared vision that is embraced by all, not enforced from above.

💡 Quote of the Month: "The practice of shared vision involves the skills of unearthing shared 'pictures of the future' that foster genuine commitment and enrollment rather than compliance. In mastering this discipline, leaders learn the counterproductiveness of trying to dictate a vision, no matter how heartfelt." People form the foundation of organizational alignment. Creating a shared vision is a significant step toward this. However, to truly align organizational efforts, it must be a collaborative effort embraced by all team members, not enforced from above. 🔗 When effectively harnessed, this shared vision becomes the cornerstone for organizational goals, fostering genuine commitment rather than compliance.
