Artificial Intelligence Is Winning More Hearts and Minds in the Workplace 50% of workers are currently using some form of AI at work, compared to 32% last year, with workers in some countries adopting AI over 2x more than others. Oracle and Future Workplace AI at Work Global Study.

Similarly, the workers and managers we studied in manufacturing, knowledge, and service roles identified these factors for when they are likely to reject new workplace technology: ➡️ When the technology is forced upon them and other workers without their consultation. ➡️ When the rollout and use of the technology is extractive, racist, or otherwise dehumanizing. ➡️ When it is used primarily for the purposes of surveilling them. ➡️ When the targeted problems are planned for productivity purposes or don't address problems that impact routine work positively. ➡️ When workers' bodies or mental wellbeing are further stressed or put at risk. ➡️ When Al is managing or assessing individuals' performance, rather than coaching them. Find guidance from AFL-CIO, Partnership on AI, and Charter, including how to ensure that more employees and hourly workers can maximally participate in workplace AI and experience its benefits. (Hint: involve them earlier.) A few months back I put this document together for an internal working group, but I assume that this discussion and others like it are happening in many workplaces large and small around the world. Given that, I thought I'd open source my fairly raw, first-pass attempt at writing a practical guide to understanding and using LLM's in particular in the workplace.
