Pride Month may be over, but the fight for inclusion and LGBTQ+ equality continues every single day. This movement, born from the Stonewall Riots – a courageous act of resistance against discrimination – reminds us that true inclusion requires constant effort. When LGBTQ+ employees can bring their full, authentic selves to work, everyone benefits - especially the patients whom we serve. Endpoints News recently celebrated Pride Month with its annual feature on LGBTQ+ industry leaders, including BMS's own Francisco Ramírez-Valle, MD, PhD, FAAD. Let's celebrate the vibrant diversity of the LGBTQ+ community, not just in June, but every day and acknowledge that the fight is not over. Together, we can create a more inclusive and successful world for everyone, but that will require sustained effort and focus. As always, #ASCO delivered back-to-back days of inspiring, patient-focused sessions and meetings. This congress has highlighted the progress that the oncology community has made through deep collaboration and unwavering perseverance; however, there is so much more work to do! Far too few patients around the world have ready access to innovations that can make a meaningful difference in their care journeys. I was glad for the opportunity to spend time with patient advocates this week at the 14th Annual BMS Patient Advocacy Forum, where I had the chance to share details on the Bristol Myers Squibb commitment to improving access to our medicines globally through ASPIRE (Accessibility, Sustainability, Patient-centric, Impact, Responsibility and Equity), a 10-year strategy to advance access to innovative treatments and help patients in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) gain access to potentially life-saving medicines. It’s a significant moment for the Global Market Access, Pricing & Value Demonstration (MAx) team at Bristol Myers Squibb. Our team works every day to ensure that our innovative medicines reach patients. The launch of our ASPIRE strategy reflects these tireless efforts to ensure that patients have access no matter where they live. I am thrilled to witness the incredible progress being made in Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) across the industry. However, I must say that I am particularly proud of the remarkable work happening in GenAI applications in the field of Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) at BMS. Just recently, our team achieved outstanding success at the 2024 ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research meeting in Atlanta, where we had the privilege of presenting two podiums and seven posters. To top it off, we were honored with the Best Podium Award at the conference. This recognition is a testament to the immense efforts we have put into developing methods for AI automated Health Technology Assessment (HTA) adaptations. I want to take a moment to recognize and congratulate the incredible BMS team behind this achievement: Bill Malcolm, Sven Klijn, Siguroli Teitsson, and Dr. Nathan R. Hill D.Phil(Oxon.) ΣΞ. Their dedication and ongoing contributions have been instrumental as we progress towards our live launch in Q3 2024. Through their research, we have successfully developed a method that utilizes GenAI to automatically adapt any core Excel-based cost-effectiveness model to meet market-level needs. This includes a complete rewrite of the entire ~100 page technical report as well as updating the Excel model itself. This groundbreaking work will not only enhance speed to execution but also significantly reduce our reliance on external vendors, resulting in greater efficiencies. This is just the beginning of a transformative journey, and I am excited to see the positive impact our GenAI applications will have on the field of HEOR. Stay tuned for more updates, as we continue to push boundaries and revolutionize the way we approach cost-effectiveness modeling. Today, I celebrate the incredible woman who raised me: my Mom. Her dedication to her family and friends, her work as a nurse, and her hobbies (best gardener in the world!) has always inspired me. More importantly, her resilience in the face of challenges is something I strive for every day. I would not be who I am without her unwavering support and love. Love you, Mom! ❤️

As part of our commitment to price transparency, we recently shared in our 2023 ESG Report, that approximately 46 cents of each dollar of our company’s gross sales went back into the healthcare system in the form of discounts, rebates, price concessions and fees in the US. Of this total, approximately half went to Medicare and Medicaid, and 15% went to Veteran Affairs and the U.S. Department of Defense. I am so very proud of my colleague, Dierk Neugebauer, for his impressive accomplishments on behalf of patients. There is nobody more deserving of the Order of Merit recognition. There is nothing that excites me more than seeing hard work recognized throughout the industry, and today I get to share the news that a passionate and patient-focused leader in our US market access team has received an important external recognition. Each year, the HDA - Healthcare Distribution Alliance's Distribution Management Award (DMA) for Industry Leadership recognizes an individual for their extraordinary contributions to the pharmaceutical distribution sector. It is my honor to congratulate Jane Kogut Keyser, who has been the face of our company for the wholesale distribution industry for over 36 years, on winning this year's award! Jane’s outstanding leadership, collaboration, and willingness to go above and beyond to develop and elevate business-critical partner relationships are unparalleled. Congratulations and thank you for everything you do, Jane! It is an honor to work alongside you.
