Did you know that 20% of people worldwide live with a disability? Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend one of our #Diversity, #Equity, #Inclusion, and #Belonging (DEIB) workshops organized by Clémentine Maunier & Amanda Gerlinger. Imagine the challenges that some tasks pose for people due to a lack necessary tools and equipment to meet their needs. In both public and private institutions, discussions often revolve around budgets, cost constraints, and effectiveness, often overlooking their impact on people. However, the reality is that visible or invisible disabilities affect one out of every five individuals—this could happen to any of us. As pointed out by one of the presenters, a simple moment of excitement of jumping could result in a broken leg, completely altering one's life. Educating ourselves and raising awareness about this issue can profoundly influence our local communities, companies, and even entire industries. The video below perfectly illustrates some of my thoughts. Please feel free to leave a comment or contact me directly if you'd like to share your own story or have a better understanding of the initiatives at Hult EF in this matter.

Two Weeks Away :: #RecFest23 : : The Inspire Stage verb: inspire 1. fill (someone) with the urge or ability to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. origin : Middle English enspire, from Old French inspirer, from Latin inspirare ‘breathe or blow into’. The word was originally used of a divine or supernatural being, in the sense ‘impart a truth or idea to someone’. My Why :: to engage you in a sense of purpose - to verbally massage your soul. Might our time together in Nashville be the cause of - part of the reason - you return to your team and place of work with a different/renewed commitment. Culture wars, diversity and inclusion and social norms are under serious attack. All of which are threats to someones lived experience. A lived experience in and outside of our workplaces. I will NEVER compromise on HUMANITY. Join me on Day Two (2) for a full schedule of promising talks. cc: RecFest | The Recruitment Events Co. #recfest

Set aside the State of the Union (dismal as it is) and consider the State of the Culture: What can each of us do to thwart the imperious, waste-laying march of the “Dopamine Cartels” ? And specifically to my friends in K-12 Classical Education, how can we best equip our students to resist the zombifying junkie culture and become persons who live lives marked by intellectual and spiritual wisdom and wonder, and moral goodness, and who employ these gifts to build life-giving friendships, families, communities, companies? The battle against the Dopamine pushers must be an intentional, communal movement. In K-12 education, that means all hands on deck: Heads of School, Boards, Teachers, Staff, Parents, students, Grandparents, Pastors, Priests, community leaders, coaches. . . . Are we building that kind of intentional culture at every level? Sharing best practices efficiently?

Founder of The Inspire Network | HCANZA Accredited Health & Wellness Coach | Speaker | Facilitator | Mentor | Low Vision Advocate - Inspiring & empowering people to live healthy, content lives through positive change.
With the weekend looming, and the temperatures dropping, you may be heading to a pub or bar for some comforting food and some refreshing drinks 🥂☕️ Trying to get served in a busy bar is hard enough but have you ever thought how much harder it would be if you had low vision? I encourage you to watch this Vision Australia video from The Pupil Project that gives you a different perspective on how social cues can easily be missed. Now you wondering, what could I possibly do as I’m trying to get served myself? Below is a resource from the Vision Australia website. ⭐️ Don’t assume When you assume, you can’t know anything as fact. Appearances can be deceiving and often, a low vision condition is not physically visible and remains hidden throughout your interactions. The best way you can help and avoid making assumptions is to ask the right kind of relevant questions to the situation you are both in. So in this situation if you see a person standing at the bar for a long time that appears to be having trouble, introduce yourself and ask if they need any help to be served. This simple kind act may evoke gratitude and an appreciation for your awareness of their presence ⭐️ Together we can make the world more #inclusive ❤️ Want to learn more, please visit https://lnkd.in/gs_CkiCu #lowvision #thepupilproject #disabilityawareness #Inclusion #visionloss #whitecane #blindness #lowvisionawareness #maculardegeneration Array Productions The Open Arms https://lnkd.in/geTTKVbi

Being Dyslexic Is Not As Easy As A,B,C...Mind Bicycle In the world of business, those of us with dyslexia don’t just think outside the box; we often don’t even see the box. We traverse an unconventional path, driven by a desire to explore and wander rather than follow a prescribed route. It’s not that we aim to be disruptive or cause upset. Like the sequence A, B, C, we don’t always follow the traditional pathway. We might leap from A to C, circle back to A, then onto B, and sometimes, after much exploration, find ourselves back at A again. Or we might skip straight from A to C, forging our own path to understanding. To us, the world is a blank canvas, inviting us to apply our unique blend of creativity and critical thinking. We approach problems not just to solve them but to unravel them, to understand them from angles unseen by others. This ‘dyslexic perspective’ is our magic sauce. It enables us to navigate through complex challenges, dismantle barriers, and ultimately, drive innovation forward. Our journey might not be as easy as A,B,C, but it’s this very journey that equips us to tackle some of the world’s most pressing problems with unparalleled ingenuity. Being dyslexic isn’t a hindrance; it’s a different kind of roadmap—one that leads us through exploration, discovery, and sometimes, to the realization that the journey itself enriches our solutions. In embracing our dyslexia, we embrace a world of possibilities. Let's celebrate the diverse thinking that moves us forward, that sees not just the problems but the myriad solutions waiting to be discovered. Together, we can create a more inclusive, innovative, and understanding world. Made By Dyslexia Richard Branson #dyslexicthinking #thinkoutsidethebox ##connectthedots

The secret message communicated to most young people today by the society around them is that they are not needed, that the society will run itself quite nicely until they — at some distant point in the future — will take over the reigns. Yet the fact is that the society is not running itself nicely… because the rest of us need all the energy, brains, imagination and talent that young people can bring to bear down on our difficulties. For society to attempt to solve its desperate problems without the full participation of even very young people is imbecile.” — Alvin Toffler #youngpeople #youngpeopleforchange #1point8
