CEO, Founder @ Continuum.ai | First B2B Returns, Warranties & Repairs Network Distributors and Manufacturers
Modern Distribution Management (MDM) had a post last week talking about how Manufacturers are outpacing distributors in the rate of AI adoption. I actually blame (we) the AI and tech vendors for 2 main reasons: 1) Distributors don’t have the same free cash flow as manufacturers to be able to make speculative investments. Payback needs to be clear and and within a clear timeframe. If a solution can’t be deployed and value realized quickly it’s tough to justify. 2) not enough tech is built to solve root causes of supply chain issues. Solutions are built as a single instance with no intention of tying in manufacturers, shippers, end users ect. Well how valueable is single party data and single party insights? Payback needs to be clean and clear. Solutions need to connect supply chain.
