What are the Educational, Health, or Economic Benefits to these Players and their Families for that kids uncompensated participation in any additional “NON-SCHOLARSHIP” private third-party postseason football games that pay the Universities and the Conferences for the use of their free labor to put on these highly profitable Bowl events. The answer is ZERO! These additional 1-5 POSTSEASON games are also above the Players’ 12 game athletic scholarship agreement? Our Proposal offers Major Benefits in all three Categories to the Players and their Families! Scholarship Football Players are owed Hundreds of Millions of dollars from this year’s Media contract that uses these Players’ Name, Image, and Likeness NIL without any equitable financial consideration to the Players or their Families! This lost Money could have a major impact on these Players lives, the lives of their current and future family members for generations? We do not support, or agree with the House vs NCAA Settlement or the current covert attempts to extend and expand this Antitrust exploitation of our young (mostly minority) FB & BB Players' labor that the US Supreme Court and Federal District Court have recently struck down as illegal and implausible.
We are gearing up to welcome our 200+ athletes and administrators tomorrow to our third annual #NILSummit in Atlanta, GA at the College Football Hall of Fame 🏈 If you are attending the event this weekend, please feel free to reach out and connect! Student Athlete NIL #NIL #NILDeals #collegeathletes

So, its March Madness. Admittedly, I am not a fan of Basketball, but follow along during March Madness because I love competition, and love to see stories of small programs breaking through to take down the big guys. With the NIL now becoming a major part of recruiting, how do small schools, without the income generated by big time football, compete? How do schools like St. Peter's or Gonzaga attract talent without access to those deep pockets? Look at the top NIL Collectives, then look at the $ generated by Football attendance versus Basketball attendance. Have we seen the impending end of the Cinderella story?

On July 11, 2024, a Third Circuit panel held in the seminal decision Johnson v. NCAA that NCAA athletes can be employees of universities for purposes of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) solely by virtue of their participation in interscholastic athletics. As part of its decision, the Third Circuit rejected the “frayed tradition” of amateurism as a defense to shield FLSA claims from college athletes. A very interesting perspective on football and CTE from football's most elite club.
They watched their husbands win the Heisman – then lost them to CTE

The Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) is a key player in shaping the athletic landscape of our state. However, it currently does not recognize lacrosse as a sanctioned activity for girls and boys. Lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports in America, with over 825,000 participants nationwide according to US Lacrosse's 2018 participation survey. In Texas alone, there are thousands of students participating in recreational and club lacrosse programs who would benefit from UIL sanctioning. Sanctioning lacrosse would provide more opportunities for student-athletes to compete at a high level and potentially earn scholarships. It would also ensure that the sport is regulated under UIL's safety standards and guidelines. We believe that by adding lacrosse as a UIL sanctioned activity, we can promote inclusivity in sports and provide equal opportunities for all students interested in this dynamic game. We urge the Texas University Interscholastic League to consider our request seriously. Please sign this petition if you support adding girls' and boys' lacrosse as a UIL sanctioned activity. https://chng.it/D824rMrWzh

Head of College Placement at FirstPoint USA | International Athletic & Student Recruitment for US Colleges & Universities
JUCO appreciation post; Back In 2018, I placed FirstPoint USA alum Jordan Mase into Allen County Community College, where he was a three time All-Conference honoree, a Third Team All-American and a Second Team All-American. In his 32 career games played at JUCO, he netted 34 goals and racked up 12 assists. With such impressive numbers, Jordan transitioned to the NCAA DII level with Texas A&M International University, where he has just been nominated as a 1st team all conference pick, as part of the Lone Star Conference, for his efforts this year. Jordan has played in 17 games this season, finishing with 9 goals and 5 assists. He totalled 35 shots, 16 of which were on goal, and delivered two game winners. In his junior year, he scored twice and dished out 3 assists for the Dust Devils. Total Collegiate Stats: 61 games 45 goals 20 assists This is a perfect example of why the JUCO route should not be overlooked, as it can lead to fantastic opportunities (like this), that you may not have received as a senior coming straight out of High School. I find it frustrating when people assume that JUCO soccer is of a low level, this is far from true. There are plenty of JUCO teams out there that would compete with, and beat four year programs. Some key points below on why JUCO might be the right fit for you: - more opportunity for regular game time as a freshman/sophomore. - less demands academically for admission. - increased exposure and recruitment opportunities at the four year level. - can be significantly cheaper. - skill/physical development. - personal growth and maturity. Congrats, Jordan.
