I am deeply honored to share that I was the first recipient of the Katherine Kuck Legacy Award for Healthcare Advocacy, which I received on May 30th, 2024, as one of the Board members of UHCAN Ohio. Being nominated and selected for this award underscores the importance of our collective commitments to championing equitable and compassionate healthcare for all. In my acceptance speech, I shared: “My work revolves around improving healthcare outcomes for children, a responsibility I take very seriously. I would like to gently remind everyone here that it is our right and duty to protect children's rights. These rights encompass not only healthcare but also education, shelter, and good nutrition. Ensuring these fundamental needs are met is essential for the well-being and future of our children. While individuals like me work hard to advocate for and improve healthcare for children, I implore each of you to join us in this mission. I accept this award while thinking of the children of Gaza and how important it is for us to be their voices. We must ensure that our constituents are listening to us and that our voices are heard against genocide.” Advocacy is not a solitary endeavor but a collective effort. Together, we can create a world where every child has access to the healthcare they deserve. Thank you to everyone who supports and believes in this mission. Together, we can create lasting change. #HealthcareAdvocacy #EquityInHealthcare #UHCANOhio #ChildrenHaveRights
