HMT Empire Windrush arrived in Britain on 22nd June 1948. On board were more than 800 passengers from the Caribbean - Today marks 76 years since that voyage. Windrush Day has become a KEY symbolic moment in the story of the Black British contribution to Britain and beyond, that helped create the modern society that we share today. My step father Verrall (a great man) was part of that generation and I want to say THANK YOU (I repeat) THANK YOU!! to him and every single person from that time that created a pathway and opened doors so that many of us could shine and be great today! Nuff love and respect. That is so goof glad to see it and a truly memorable and amazing day indeed and you are a king and a legend and so is your step dad

Mahari Hay - A testimony! My mum and dad also came over in the 60’s and there are so many stories. It reminds me I should record for my grandchildren how far we have come and what our history really is. They really don’t know why they enjoy some of the freedoms they have today! Thanks for the reminder!
