Despite the growth of the video on demand market, traditional TV viewership is seeing a slow but steady growth worldwide. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case in the UAE. TV viewing has declined among UAE residents, according to YouGov’s latest media report. A higher proportion of UAE residents (70%) spent less than 10 hours per week on live TV viewership in 2023 compared to 2021 (54%). Aside from this, video on demand (VOD) platforms have experienced increased usage in the last two years, with Amazon Prime and YouTube having had the largest uplift. The report found that Gen Z were the most likely to use on demand services, with YouTube dominating Gen Z’s top choice for on-demand TV. How often do you watch TV? 🤔 #tv #vod #uae #media
