Last week, the Savanta commercial team took 2 days offsite together, away from our laptops, to connect, spend some time listening to our wonderful colleagues speak about our products and services and plan how we can best serve our clients globally in 2024. - We learnt about some of the key products that can help our clients save time, innovate faster (#Explorer), spend budgets more wisely (#campaignoptimiser) and have a finger on the pulse for new and emerging trends using AI (#trendvue). - We also used our collective minds to come up with ways to service global clients in a way that shares learnings, unlocks opportunities and uncovers new areas where Savanta can support our client’s strategies. We also had James Pickles join us to impart some really important knowledge and information on how we can support ourselves and our colleagues at the same time as driving high performance and delivery. My key take outs were: - Understand the difference between when you are needed to support/be a sounding board and when you are needed to solve a problem - Rest hard – we’re all familiar with work hard/play hard but how about resting hard. Learning to just ‘be’ to support and sustain the work. - Taking meaningful breaks in between back to back meetings. This means no stimulus (leaving the phone alone 😶). I was sitting in a Wework last week, Overheard a demo from a rep at a well known tech firm. Bragging to sound credible, just horrible. Many reps are focused on the end goal. "I gotta close this deal, my quarter depends upon it!" However true that may be, You can't seem desperate and self absorbed. Your logo's and accolades don't matter. A lot of old school sales training preaches "take control", How about "manifest guidance". From the moments that I heard, this rep wasn't doing that. They were throwing out articulate words that didn't deeply resonate . On your calls this week, Break the pattern, cut through your own noise. Focus on the moment at hand, Focus on the their goals, what they truely care about. For better results. Have a productive week. Keep Striving!! #sales #management
