Enablement Specialist | Product Marketing Strategist | Expert in Client Success & Enablement Strategies
Another day, another role at our growing company 🎉 Grow Progress is #hiring a Senior Product Designer to help many of the most influential groups in Democratic politics and social good advocacy maximize the number of people they persuade in a critical year. In this role, you’ll practice product design as a full-stack sport. You will conduct user research, design new features, and work with product and engineering to bring new products to the market. You will be expected to move fluidly between the macro and micro, paying as much attention to the execution of the corner radius of a button as you do to the interdependencies between large product areas. About You: You’re a seasoned designer in the middle of your career with a particular proclivity for working on design systems and executing polished user interfaces. Ambiguity excites you, and so does making stuff; you’re committed to being iterative and experimental but ready to use data to back up your decisions; you’re prepared to have strong opinions and to express them, but you understand your role as the facilitator, engager, and synthesizer; you’re constantly thinking about frameworks and processes that will help align your team while centering the user. In addition to your hard skills, you also bring an above-average amount of empathy to your work. You think deeply about others and are committed to continually improving how you communicate and build relationships with both users and your coworkers. You are the person in the room thinking the most about those with the least; you dream of a more accessible, inclusive, and equitable world and are constantly envisioning ways to build towards it. Mastery, 10,000 hours, Repetition...this is how you build an expert skill set. That's why I'm able to deliver better results for Founders when it comes to hiring their first Product Designer - quite simply, I've done it more times then most. When you have mission critical needs - you're much more likely to seek out an expert in the field. You want confidence they'll get the job done to the highest standard because they've done it many times before....rather than having a go yourself and expecting the same level of success. #design #productdesign #foundingproductdesigner #designhiring #productdesignhiring #DesignedTalent

The Founding Product Designer has a key characteristic in their experience that allows them to be a highly successful and impactful founding Designer. Their BREADTH of experience is often a key differentiator that I deliver to founders when I'm hiring their Founding Product Designer. Ensuring those founders have a Designer with a broad enough toolkit allows them to focus on the business and next stages, whilst this designer can balance a multitude of tasks to ensure Design is not a blocker to progress. #design #productdesign #foundingproductdesigner #designhiring #productdesignhiring #DesignedTalent

After seeing this post, I felt I wanted to tell all Ukrainian designers - I know😔. And I'm so sorry. I know how hard you studied. The competition is huge, foreign courses are very expensive, and we have to find out information bit by bit by searching the far corners of Internet. I have taught design courses and studied myself many times. I remember borrowing money from relatives to go to the Nielsen Norman Group conference, only to hear from one of the participants that the cost was “adequate.” I remember the times when only 15 people in Ukraine had such certification, because 3 thousand dollars is not lying around in your pocket. I know how difficult it is for you to find a job. There are many excellent design studios and outsourcing companies in Ukraine. We have great products. But there are so many of us, and to get into an international company you need to be very lucky. I know how hard you are trying to improve your skills, learn how to fill out a CV in the way that foreign recruiter will not throw away, watch how to go through interviews, and learn English. As a mentor, I see how you bombard mentors to learn (Thanks again Felix Lee for making ADPList free. I hope one day you will be able to comprehend just how much good you did by that free-model for us) I know that Microsoft, Google and Facebook don't see us. And I'm so sorry. No matter how many certificates you collect, no matter how many you study, no matter how many you fill out your portfolio. It was difficult before too. I don't want to blame anyone at all. I remember my interview at Microsoft before the war and сovid. The fact that I was even considered! They were ready to arrange a relocation for me to the Czech Republic to the office! Oh it was euphoria! I look at the fluent design system and smile because I talked to the team that made it. But now, contracts are being severed with outsourcing companies, no matter how hard we try to work twice as hard because of the lost time from air siren. And half of the specialists cannot even leave the country. Of course, I would like to open these vacancies, look at all my 15 certificates and ten years of experience for courage and click Apply. It would be great if I could help Microsoft, I like my Surface 10 times more than any Mac. But we are not in the EU yet. We are here. We are looking for some other courses while we are sitting in the bomb shelter. What if someday all these big corporations will flood here, and we will show the world just what we are! In the meantime, hang in there. I see you in LinkedIn and I am so proud of you. I know that you are the most ambitious, smart, focused and strong. Try. Open the link. Send your Cv and press Apply. Who knows? And write me if you need a mentoring session. At least I can put my certificates somewhere :)
Great news - WE'RE HIRING!!! The Microsoft Fluent Design System team is looking for incredible designers who thrive at the intersection of innovation and systems thinking, as we integrate generative AI across Microsoft products with Copilot and redefine how humans interact with software. In Fluent, we bring Designers across Microsoft together to create a unified vision of product design transformation at scale. We celebrate different styles, voices, and views reflecting the diversity of our customers. We believe designing in the open empowers us all to move fast and build experiences without seams. Because we create better products together, we nurture and continuously evolve our culture and shared responsibilities. We will be running a hiring event in early 2024 to grow this team. If you'd like to be considered for the event, please apply to one of these roles: PRODUCT DESIGNER II https://lnkd.in/gRrmBUMK SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER https://lnkd.in/gtXFgQuS PRINCIPAL PRODUCT DESIGNER https://lnkd.in/g5iwP_Nb

What level should we hire a Founding Product Designer? In my experience, I've seen a higher rate of success when the company commits to hiring a Snr (and beyond) Level Designer. That Seniority of experience brings expertise primarily in the form of speed. They are faster, they know the way through (because they've navigated failures already) and they are able to get Your Product to market and to Customers faster and more effectively than a less experienced Designer. When growing and scaling is key to your businesses success, it's a huge value add to bring in the experience levels you need. It'll be far more worth it - I've seen it, many times! #designhiring #foundingdesigner

We get how challenging the whole process of applying/writing to companies, interviewing/pitching, and those first few weeks can be for designers. 🥲 We want to change that with the Collective at ownpath. ✨ If you haven't heard, our Collective is a platform for designers to unlock exciting full-time, contract/contract-to-hire, and consulting opportunities. We're soon opening this up to researchers and writers too! So, here's how what you can expect when you apply to and work with the Collective at ownpath: 🙌 Clear feedback on your portfolio/application/interview so that even if it's not accepted at this point, you can make use of it in future ⚡️ Faster interview process (with feedback at every step) compared to applying directly 💻 If you're applying to a contract or a contract-based role, we'll help you get setup with a laptop and other tools you need 💰 If it's a full-time role, expect great pay, typically much better than your previous pay 😇 If it's a contract/consulting role, you don't have to worry about negotiating pricing or following up on payments with the client. All taken care of! 🤝 Weekly coaching from a more senior designer/leader so that you're not only doing well but are also growing in your career 💜 A peer group of other designers (and creatives) with whom you can brainstorm, rant, or maybe go out for a drink with! We know how lonely it can get at times So, we're hiring for multiple roles with some really exciting companies. Resonate with how we're approaching this? Apply!
If you’re a design manager, lead designer or leader, we want you. We’re hiring for multiple leadership & manager-level roles at our Collective 👇🏼 👉🏼 Design Manager (Fintech) 👉🏼 Design Manager (Edtech) 👉🏼 Associate Director, Product Design (Fintech) 👉🏼 Lead Product Designer (Studio) 👉🏼 Lead Product Designer (Dev Tools) 👉🏼 Design Systems (Fintech) If any of these look like they’re up your alley, get in touch here: https://lnkd.in/gw47JmQD Know someone who might be interested?
