I just finished a job simulation on JPMorgan Chase's Investment Banking through Forage. In the simulation, I acted as an investment banker and helped a client with a potential merger and acquisition (M&A). Here's what I did: • I researched different companies and identified the perfect one for my client, considering both their strategic goals and financial situation. • I built a financial model to estimate the target company's value. To make sure it was accurate, I even adjusted it for a rival bid and unexpected supply chain issues. • I put together a concise two-page report for the client. It included details about the target company and a clear explanation of the M&A auction process.

I get asked so many times, so you're with JP Morgan? or Was JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley ever a single entity? August just passed but I thought I would share a little history lesson of how Morgan Stanley was formed 88 years ago. In August of 1935, a meeting was held on a porch in Maine to discuss the founding of “XYZ Corporation,” which would go on to become Morgan Stanley. In 1935, partners of J.P Morgan & Co and their lawyer set out to create a new investment bank, due to the Glass-Steagall Act which prevented underwriting securities within commercial banking operations. This led to the formation of Morgan Stanley & Co Incorporated, with Harold Stanley as president and Henry Morgan as treasurer and secretary. The decision to establish a new bank was risky, as it involved leaving an established bank with $340 million in capital. However, demand from potential customers like AT&T made the partners confident about the venture. 88 years ago and still (in my opinion) the top and best company in finance. Goldman Sachs amassed a war chest of more than $20bn for private credit investments, underscoring the surge of interest in the asset class. The alternatives part of its asset management arm announced the final close of West Street Loan Partners V, its latest in a series of large-cap senior direct lending vehicles, at $13.1bn total capital. In addition, Goldman Sachs Alternatives closed on more than $7bn in large-cap senior direct lending management accounts and $550m of co-investment vehicles. Institutional investors in the strategy include US and international pension plans, insurance companies, and sovereign wealth funds. Investors from Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management, family offices, and third-party wealth channels also made commitments. "The market for senior direct lending continues to benefit from the growing demand from financial sponsors.
