The Opportunity to Reduce Process Variability continued.... The traditional approach to dilution control uses valves and pressure headers. If it is incorrectly designed, it may significantly affect consistency management and control in that loop. Accurate dilution control requires accurate flow measurements in the dilution line and in the stock line. Flow ratio control will eliminate any influence of pressure or flow changes in the water feed line and stock flow line. Any variations there creates consistency changes in the process line due to the time-lag affect and how the dilution water is introduced to the pump suction. It must be synchronized with the time response of the consistency transmitter. The variability can be eliminated with setpoint control on the flow loop. ProEye® CS resets the bar in consistency measurement and control. Based on the patented measuring technique, it determines the total consistency properties of a pulp/water mixture. Conmark’s remote calibration and performance verification service plus intuitive configuration menus make the ProEye™ CS unlike any other consistency transmitter on the market today.

In recent years, a significant transformation has taken place in the realm of equipment control, marking a paradigm shift. This shift holds both promise and potential for abuse. To truly grasp its impact, let's delve into the 'how' and 'why' behind this evolution. Over the past few decades, machinery has transitioned from traditional mechanical and hydraulic control to electronic control systems. While electronic control offers exciting new capabilities, it has also led to a gradual erosion of business within the equipment aftermarket. Manufacturers have adopted tactics that, while not completely hindering owners or independent service providers from basic repairs, effectively create a monopoly on more complex maintenance. They do this by exclusively providing the necessary electronic tools to authorized dealers. In essence, manufacturers aim to capture every dollar spent on equipment upkeep and repair. The Right to Repair movement has emerged as a comprehensive response to safeguarding a competitive environment for aftermarket parts and repair services. We will explore the subtle and not-so-subtle strategies employed by manufacturers to monopolize parts and repair. It is crucial to understand that monopolizing repair, or 'tying,' is not only illegal but also contrary to the best interests of equipment owners—your customers. https://lnkd.in/gWgBqw-j
