Glad to hear that the City of Toronto extended STACKT Market's lease for another 10 years. STACK has been animating the vacant site at the northwest corner of Bathurst and Front streets since 2019. STACKT is also planning to bring their shipping container market concept to other cities across Canada, starting with Ottawa, begining this month. What I'm thinking is that Hamilton would make an excellent host for a STACKTˣ set-up. And specifically there is space at Pier 8 that is already serviced. And while it will be redeveloped into condos, this will take time. City Of Hamilton, I see that you are already did Pop-Ups at Pier 8 during a past summer (which is a great idea!). Now, how about working with the Pier 8 developers to bring STACKTˣ (or something like it) to the Hamilton Harbour waterfront for a year or two? Maybe something that Slate Asset Management wants to consider as well, to bring some excitement to their Steelport site while the long-term build-out is happening. Another great waterfront location and a shipping container market would seem to be a great fit brand-wise.
